Chaos And Bright Lights

Chaos And Bright Lights

On their first studio long-player the three McClymont sisters flew from their Australia home to Nashville where they assembled a solid quiver of tunesmiths to co-write the songs comprising Chaos and Bright Lights. Glee music director Adam Anders and Nathan Chapman who writes with Taylor Swift helped Brooke Maree McClymont forge the opening track “My Life Again,” a peppy insta-hit overflowing with the exuberance of youth. The slightly rootsy “Save Yourself” bounces and sways in the verses before the chorus grapples your memory — partially in thanks to Trey Bruce who has penned hits for LeAnn Rimes and Diamond Rio. Then there’s Eric Silver who wrote with the Dixie Chicks, helping give “Good Cry” organic tones and uplifting hooks with familiar fiddles and banjos adding ambience. But as the lovely ballad “Shotgun” proves, Brooke Maree, Samantha Kate and Mollie Therese can write just fine on their own. And aside from all of Music City’s A-list help, it’s the McClymonts’ three-part sibling harmonies that work their magic on your ears like the mythological sirens with their enchanting and spellbinding voices.
