This is the new skeeball king!

I bought this thinking it would be another lame attempot at a skeeball app but since I like skeeball so much I had to try it just like all the other ones I bought. Right from the get go I saw that this app was different than the other skeeball apps. The physics of the game and the accelerometer work extremely well. You flick to bowl and tilt left or right to add touch to your direction(if needed) I like the ticket feature where you redeem them for prizes...thats the skeeball I remember from back in the day. If you liked Arcade Bowling wait til you check this app out, you wont be disappointed.

Yes, it is worth it.

That's what everyone wants to know, right; "I have the free Skeeball app...is this one worth it?" The answer is yes. The physics are pretty convincing, particularly because the ball can bounce off the edges of the cups, if your aim is not dead on. To mitigate this, however, the developers have included the ability to alter the flight path, after the ball is in the air, by tilting the iPhone. This is quite helpful, as it allows the player to "tweak" their shot, after the fact, and it feels great to just barely nudge a ball in. In addition, certain cups will highlight and hitting those will provide multipliers, which not only compelling, but it forces the player to learn shooting technique for each of the holes, instead of just blindly spamming at the big-number cups. The art and sounds are spot on and you even get a little jingle, when you score at hit. I was surprised to find that I actually care where I'm at on the leader board (although players' names should be listed too). I thought I would have no interest in this element, but it does keep me playing (4320 score on day one, but still only ranked 50th). Video games are about wish fulfillment and the idea of giving away crappy prizes for your win tickets, just like in real life, was brilliant. As others have said, though, in order to truly come through on that promise, they need to add 2D...or 3D...items. Judging from the quality of this early effort, I wouldn't be surprised at all, if they added that feature, because I think the game has legs. It's a great pick-up-and-play game that is perfect when you don't really want to "think", but you are in the mood for a quick little dexterity challenge. Now...I just need to get those 1,200 tickets so that I can purchase that adorable little pomeranian puppy!

Fun!

Best Skeeball on the iPhone. I love the physics. The funny items you can buy with tickets just adds to the atmosphere. Well done and polished App. I love my taco! :-)
