Customer Reviews

Simply done, well done... more to come...

123sLite (version 1.0) is a very simple and straightforward app to help with visual number recognition. If you have someone in your life that needs to work on their unit numbers then this could be a really helpful tool, I think. It currently allows sequential (sweep left/right to go down/up one) or randomized (double-tap) access to the numbers from 0 to 10. It does exactly that and does it well. Additionally, the numbers and color scheme are elegant and attractive, and the interface is clean and dead simple. I have tried this app with a 4 1/2 year old (starting pre-k), and it is proving quite helpful. I have also tried this app with an (almost) seven year old (starting kindergarten), and while these numbers are no challenge for this child, she is still very interested in using it, so there is potential for future versions to target a wider audience by expanding the range of numbers (and allowing the user to specify what range to use) or even moving into the alphabet. Horizontal mode would help with numbers >10 that might need more width than vertical mode provides with the font used. I sent those suggestions to the authors, and they were very appreciative. They indicated that they are currently working on just these sorts of things, and more (including "spelling out" the letters in more than one language, and speaking letters/numbers too!). It sounds like this app that began as a very "simple" thing is becoming much more sophisticated, and I hope they'll be able to deliver these sorts of features with the same underlying simplicity in the near future! I, for one, would be happy to buy an app like that for a reasonable price. If you have constructive feedback (on this or any other app), consider sending it to the authors rather than "just" posting it in a review. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Just stopped working

This app did not really hold my 4.5 yo's attention, but we revisited it today and now it seems to have frozen. Double-taps to no avail. Restarted, but haven't deleted and reinstalled. Will instead just delete it. Not much confidence in the paid app...
