Customer Reviews

Not bad, but needs a ton of improvements.

I love the AV Club and check the site several times a day, so I was super excited to see that it finally got its own app. But I'm ultimately pretty disappointed.

Here's what's missing:
- The other sections!! Why just film??
- Comments and the ability to post them
- Pinch to zoom. What's the point of featuring the Tolerability Index if it's too small to read?
- Option to open articles in Safari
- Landscape mode
- Instapaper integration

It's a start. But it's got a long way to go...

Just go to the website

I love the AV Club, but this app isn't worth the spot on your home screen. The articles are bare with minimal formatting (and I mean that in a bad way) and no images that I could see. This is one of those rare cases where the web site is better than the app.

The worry app ever?

Barring applications with actual errors - non functioning apps - this has got to be the worst app ever. Av club has excellent content and it would ideally be simple to transfer that quality to an app. Nevertheless this app is defined by what it doesn't do. There is no way to receive more than a handful of articles in any section. The movie review section could easily convert itself into my favourite place for movie reviews, but because it has so few movies available it wouldnt be practical to visit the app before checking another source first.

Bottom line: app needs scalability work
