Adaptunes provides automatic speed and motion-based volume control for your iPhone or iPod touch by working alongside the integrated iPod. Obviously useful for driving, Adaptunes also has profiles for other activities such as motorcycling, biking, skiing, and exercising.
Adaptunes works seamlessly with the integrated iPod. Just load up a playlist, podcast, or album using your iPod and then fire up Adaptunes to let it take over for you. You can also create a playlist within Adaptunes. Since Adaptunes controls the iPod, when you close Adaptunes your music keeps playing.

*** NOTICE TO IPHONE 2G USERS ***
Although Adaptunes works on iPhone 2G, be warned that you need a very strong cell tower signal in order to have location accuracy high enough for Adaptunes to work properly. Without a strong signal, speed-based volume control is unavailable.

Some Bluetooth headsets and audio docks are not compatible with automatic volume control in Adaptunes.

My new favorite app.
I bought this to help while listening to the iPod while riding my motorcycle. I had a couple problems at first, and after a few helpful emails with the developers, it's running flawlessly. Mistake was all mine. Oops.
It's pretty neat. It slowly increases the volume as your speed increases, so the music stays at a reasonable volume, no matter how loud the wind noise gets.
If this is this good as a version 1.0, I can't wait to see what's next.
UPDATE: Just like I thought, version 1.1 comes out, and any of the smallest complaints I might have had have been addressed, and they added a ton of new features. So glad I bought this app. I can't believe it's still on sale.
An amazing addition to your music
This app is by far a must for your music listening pleasure. This app takes over where Apple left off. The app adapts and helps with volume comtrol as you move using GPS functions. I have used it walking, running, biking, and driving. In all situations the app was able to adjust the volume so that I could hear the music in the environmnet in which I was in. Now the GPS does not work in ITouch but I know they are working on a solution for Itouch users. Great App and I look forward to using this app fpr whenever I am out an about.
Great on the boat!
Saw this last night and it looked to fill a need I have, auto volume adjustment for wakeboarding and wakesurfing. After some tweaking I was able to get the volume to desired levels for both idle and pulling a rider. Tested this morning and it worked great! Saved me $250 from getting a device that does the same. The only reason for 4 stars is the very slow load time, even after freeing memory up. Very responsive once opened. Little coding tweaks to come? Will email dev new profiles for possible inclusion in future release.
