Hello puzzle players! Adubble is OpenFeint Enabled. Welcome to Adubble world. Whoever you are. Wherever you are. Adubble is a highly addictive puzzle game for everyone! A real treat of a match three game!
I have reviewed a fair number of match three games for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and it is always a pleasure to see an interesting twist to such a highly popular genre. While match three games are sometimes incorporated into time management games as a mini-game, most of these games have tried to go beyond just mixing and matching items on a fixed board.
Adduble which was recently updated a few weeks ago is yet another interesting example of how much match games have evolved. In Adduble, your objective is to eliminate at least three of a kind bubbles which are adjacent to each other and meet a number of combos per level. The twist to the game is how you eliminate these matching bubbles. Instead of simply tapping on a matching set, the game makes it a notch more dynamic and interactive by letting you move rows and columns to match the bubbles. There are plenty of power-ups and obstacles - rocks, mines, stars, lasers, among others, which puts an additional twist on matching and eliminating bubbles. Some of these obstacles can't be moved and can only be eliminated in certain ways.
The graphics and animation are polished and noteworthy for making the bubbles dynamic and attractive. The game also offers nice extras - simply shake your iDevice to change the dynamic background. You can also change the look of the bubbles if you want - there are four different looks available.
Combined with the very dynamic bubbles and background, the in-game music makes the experience almost hynoptic, the music might get on your nerves after a while. More choices for the music or an option to play your own music would be great.
With sixty levels, two game modes (career and endless), online leaderboard integration through Open Feint and a STEAL at $0.99 - Adubble is a unique match three game that offers endless hours of entertainment and challenge.
