Over 500 of the planet's most amazing destinations, natural wonders, Earthling-made structures and historic sites: Adventurer fuses road signs to a compass face to provide a constantly-updating graphic of exactly where and how far away these locations are. Beautiful satellite imagery accompanies the locations, Wikipedia excerpts help describe why they are special, and a map view shows your current location in relation to them.
Adventurer's smart compass adapts to your device type:
- iPhone 3GS: fully-automated compass
- iPhone 3G: GPS-assisted compass
- Other devices: manually align using the position of the sun or moon
Locations are grouped into 22 lists spanning 4 categories. Explore the complete lists, or have Adventurer return just the nearest locations in a list or category.
Part navigational, part educational and part travel companion, Adventurer will remind you of all those places you know you have to see someday, and turn you on to a few new ones too. And with its "Nearest" feature, you might find you're a whole lot closer to some of them than you realized.

Silly people
I have traveled to over 30 countries around the world and I think the list is great --many of the features are well integrated and arranged. I would like to see a couple more things, but overall I would discount the one stars...looking forward to updates!!!
Polished, professional application
Very informative application. Is a great way to learn about famous (and lesser known) places around the world. The addition of aerial imagery is a visual treat. Highly recommended!
Needs Time
Great app if you combine travel sites with wiki. It like an RPG!
