Air Video comes packed with features. It can share folders on your harddrive as well as iTunes playlists. It supports live conversion and offline conversion where the entire file is converted upfront. It lets you customize the conversion settings, zoom and crop the video.
* Air Video works over local network and over internet (including 3G). However to enjoy streaming over internet your router must support UPnP or NAT-PMP protocols so that Air Video can setup the port forwarding for you. Otherwise you will need to configure the port forwarding manually.
* Air Video will not play DRM protected videos. All video content purchased through iTunes includes DRM. Video podcast content is free and does not include DRM protection.
* Seeking requires firmware version 3.1 or newer.
The free server software (available for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Microsoft Windows) is needed to stream and convert the videos and can be downloaded at http://airvideoapp.com .

I have been using this for a long time. The setup is as follows:
- a mini in the main room runs plex to the TV
- Air Video server also runs
- phones and a pad all with air video on them are used, with the 30 pin to HDMI out, to other TV's in the house.
No piles of cables, nothing. Makes for a very clean install and this has worked great for me from day 1.
Wow. Just wow.
One of those apps that just changes the way you use your iPad/iPhone. Similarly to Splashtop streamer, it made me fall even more in love with my iPad! Splashtop gives amazing access to my home computer, but lacks the ability to stream high quality video. This remedies that and then some. Totally impressed and pleased, COMPLETELY worth the price.
I don't write reviews hardly at all.
But I have to for this. This is the BEST app for streaming ANY media from your computer to your device locally via Wi-Fi. Not only that, but it will let you take any media that you're streaming, and send it to the Apple TV, even formats like FLV! That alone makes it TOTALLY WORTH IT. The quality is fantastic as well. Please consider getting this. I've had nothing but success with it.
