What's New in Version 3.9.3
❖ We strongly recommend that you upgrade using a desktop and cable -not a WiFi download!
There have been many cases of corrupted binaries caused by WiFi upgrades. We have reported the issue to Apple.
3.9.3 changes:
❖ Fixes an issue for some users when returning from the background
❖ Adds contents of folders to Bookmark sharing lists.
3.9.2 changes:
❖ Share your bookmarks out to Twitter, Facebook, Evernote. etc.
❖ Secondary entries in groups now individually bookmark-able.
❖ Internal bookmarks displayed and editable (phrasal verbs etc.)

Sounds like a corrupted history file -lots of them with iOS5- or a bad install using WiFi. Please email support to get back up and running.

Both our Support web FAQ and internal help have recently been updated.
Lost Bookmarks will occur if you delete the app.
There is an update bug in the OS that causing WiFi updates to fail (we have asked Apple to track it down) -it does not delete Bookmarks, though. You must have deleted the app yourself.
User Support is always only an email away.
We are definitely right behind this product.

SO Disappointed
Since a couple of upgrades ago this app crashed every time I looked up a word. The only way i could finally get it to work was to delete it from my iPad and reinstall. Of course this lost the many words I had bookmarked. And I did try what they suggested installing via direct connect and not wifi. Because of this I cannot recommend this app.
NICE JOB!!! Still Crashes Immediately
That's it, I give up! Still crashes on startup. I have removed it; lost my bookmarks, and will NEVER use AH dictionary again. So long!!!

Six weeks and the developer still can't figure out how to make AH4 not immediately crash at startup for 100% of its users. Ridiculous. I am switching to MW's dictionary product and will never purchase an AH mobile app again. Such a shame.
