Needs new levels!
This is a really good game but it really needs new levels! Please new levels!
Army of darkness
Awesome! Addicting. I can't stop playing. Great sounds. Excellent graphics considering small screen size.
Wish it had more screens
This is a fun game. I would have given 5 stars if there were more screens. A few staircases eventually gets tedious. Game play consists of moving Ash and summoning defenders. Defenders have a fixed cost, and can be upgraded.
Ash also has special weapons. And you can upgrade the castle defense.
This game has long range strategy and short range tactics. Long range, you need to be smart about spending money on enhancements.
Tactically, you need to summon defenders that will keep attackers from advancing. The big constraint here is build income, which is controlled by the Smithy who produces it over time. You can increase the Smithy's output up to 1 level below the maximum setting. It would be nice if you could go above that.
Since build income is controlled by time, expensive defenders ar hardly with upgrading. My strategy is to upgrade Swordsmen (cost 10), Archers (cost 10), and Spearmen (cost 15), in that general order. Peasants lack enough armor to really slow attackers above level 10, which is one key thing you need from defenders.
The Wiseman is critical because he provides healing. Wait to build him until you have a few ground troops in play, so he can stand behind them. At cost 40, he isn't cheap.
Castle Archers and Catapults are very helpful. They weaken and often kill Deadites. Upgrade Castle Archers to the Max as soon as possible, followed by Catapults.
The Pit had no impact on my games. I think that's a bug, which may get fixed in an update. Don't waste your income on it.
It would be nice if one of the upgrades you could apply to a summoned troop was to reduce the cost of that troop. For example, pay 35 for a Wiseman instead of 40. This would make some of the other troops more viable, like the Armored Guard or Horsemen.
Special weapons for Ash provide good variety. The Wrong Book and the Deathcoaster are two of the best.
If this game had more environment to play in, instead of just the staircase to the castle, it would be more interesting. Still, it's a good play.
