Description

Use BeamCalc to calculate the geometry and photometrics of spotlight beams. Position and direct three light sources (chosen from the included library) to determine lighting characteristics: elevation angle, beam and field pool width, illumination, shadow length.

Light sources and focus targets can be positioned numerically or graphically. Work in either meters/lux or feet/footcandles.

The source library contains over 100 fixtures including ETC Source Four, Strand SL, Selecon Pacific, Altman Shakespeare, Colortran, generic PAR64 and others. Future updates will bring many additional manufacturers and fixtures, both current and out-of-production.

BeamCalc is designed for use in architectural, display and entertainment lighting designs utilizing theatrical fixtures.

What's New In Version 2.3

Customer Reviews

I like this program

So far, it seems to work fine. I've made some preliminary calcs, and it seems that at least the throw, etc are correct. Great job on the app.

Sources Wont Work

Just got the App and unfortunately the sources wont work. As soon as I tried to access the sources it threw me out of the app. This would be an awesome app if it were not for this issue. I'm really regretting spending the $15 bucks.

It needs more

Its great for picking a generic instrument, but it would be better if it had a library of lights to use as a reference. Ultimately checking the beam size is to help determine if a beam will be bright enough, I feel the program needs to help calculate foot-candles. Currently other programs do this better.
