My Main Audio App
This is the mainframe of my ipad2 music making. I would love audio track recording and sidechaining for druthers sakes. But as far as a replacement for my MPC500, it rocks! I fly quite a bit and to be able to chop songs from my music library is rich, real rich. Touching my samples?! Mind blown. Stretching samples to certain tempo divisions?! Mind blown. Just like old school samplers, this app can only rock 32mb, which is plenty, so don't try to chop a whole song to all 128 pads. Be creative! Sampling is about using small amounts of sound in an intersting way- making the most of what you have.
Don't try to use note repeat immediately upon starting a project. There seems to be a bug when I try to get busy with it right away at the beginning of setting up a new project. But maybe that is because the transport has not been started. Anywho, I deal, because the app is dope! I am remixing whole albums. It has become a focus of my life. Wake up. Go to Beamaker2. Make beat. Write verse. Export. And then if you wanna get all fresh with your expectations, pull out your MacBook Pro open Ableton Live and get to side chaining, max-msping and mastering. I have had crashes too, but just save often and close your large apps. I tell all my friends that Beatmaker2 is legit. I have garageband and only use it to make cheesy loops I chop up in Beatmaker2. I use most of my other sound apps like donut and soundprism pro to import my recorded performances into beatmaker2. Beatmaker2 is for the sample minded. Stay true, stay fresh.
Truly,
Thank You.
Nice!
I have been using a MPC 2000 for approx. 12 years. Beatmaker 2 has done a great job of making a parallel experience plus more. I really like the sample chopping function. I can add effects to samples, etc. nice app. I paid 9.99 for this product. Can't beat that! Is it better than Garage band? No it's different and I don't want to compare them because GB is dope. The only issue I had with this is the learning curve. You will need to watch a couple of tutorials and even read a little of the user manual to understand what it can do.
Awesome Update 2.2
This app has come a long way. Intua has really impressed me with the updates they have brought. They were worth the wait. The new midi options and routing in 2.2 as well as Dropbox support have made this my go to iOS DAW.
