❖❖❖ CARGO RUNNERS — GAME DESCRIPTION ❖❖❖

Trouble Brothers’ second originally-designed game for iPad, Cargo Runners is played on a beautifully designed map of the world. The object of the game is to captain a ship that must journey around the globe racing to gather cargo as you compete for valuable contracts that earn you victory.

All the world’s a stage! Thirty cargo ports-of-call with six different types of goods: Aerospace, Apparel, Coffee, Energy, Fruit and Lumber. Six home ports, each with a couple of contracts that need to be delivered. A race to determine the captain of the sea!

Every game is different because the contracts always change. Dice rolls determine movement and you bank what you don’t use. Every turn, there is a chance that bad weather or political crisis will impede your decision. Often, there will be Communiqué cards that will give you bonus opportunities. Always, you will have to watch what the other players are doing.

Cargo Runners has the classic feel of a mid-50s board game — only it’s not! It’s brand new, designed specifically to take advantage of all the benefits of the iPad. Cargo Runners can be played around the table just like you would a regular board game, or with Online Multiplayer through Game Center, you can sail the world over with real players from all across the globe. A light strategy game built to bring back the joys of classic board games with family and friends.

What's New in Version 1.0.1

CRITICAL UPDATE: PLEASE DOWNLOAD FREE UPDATE IN APP STORE OR ITUNES *NOW* DUE TO INCOMPATIBILITY BETWEEN VERSIONS (1.0 > 1.0.1) — If you are attempting Online Multiplayer and you get matched from a 1.0 and a 1.0.1 version of the game, the random-number generation will not synchronize between the two versions. In mis-matched games your online game may crash. However, if you update to 1.0.1 you will get the new, improved random functions for the game AND the compatibility issue will be corrected (this is not an issue with around-the-table play). PLEASE UPDATE YOUR VERSION NOW.

MULTIPLAYER MATCHING SOLUTIONS: We have had reports that it is hard to find a match on Game Center with Online Multiplayer. We have some suggestions for how to increase the number of games you can play online.

➤ When possible, play with friends and family with the in-person around-the-table play. Other times "Invite a Friend" for guaranteed online matches!
➤ We know you cannot always find a friend or family member to play with, so we have a suggestion for ALL USERS – When possible, please try your matches online during the FIRST FIVE MINUTES of every hour. By more players coming during those five minutes (each hour) there is a much greater chance that random matches *will* occur. If you miss an hour, try during the first-five of the next hour. We (the inventors) will try a match ourselves at least three times per day during that time period (first-five) as often as we are able to. So you can look for us, Trouble Brothers, for matches a few times each day. We will also tweet when we are about to look for a match. Follow us @troublebrothers on Twitter to know when we are looking for a match, get updates about the game, etc.
➤ Finally, please check on our website (www.troublebrothers.com) for our Monday night Game Nights! On Game Night we will be playing all sorts of online iOS board games, including some of the other great iOS games by other companies! Find us there, use the Live Chat window, and join us for a very fun time Monday nights!

This 1.0.1 update of Cargo Runners contains:

➤ We’ve added a ‘hand’ icon to the cards which may be ‘Held’ in your hand and used later
➤ Fixed some random event distribution issues
➤ Minor bug fixes & performance improvements
➤ In the rules we’ve added a detailed section showing what each Communiqué card does!

MESSAGE TO OUR FANS: Trouble Brothers is a small, two-person independent dev team. We would like to say “Thanks” to everyone for buying our game!

❖❖❖ Upcoming ❖❖❖

We’ve heard many requests for a solo play option in Cargo Runners and we’re actively working toward providing great AI for the game! It will take a little while to get it in and get it right, so please be patient with us. We will post further announcements as we know more. Other upcoming features will include: Voice Chat, and in iOS5 we will be adding Asynchronous play through Game Center…

Thanks again for your support! Please be sure to update your iTunes App Store reviews for this and future versions as you update. Your reviews and feedback are what help people decide whether or not to buy the game.

Has No Computer Players

Great game concept, but you cannot play against a computer player since it does not currently have that option. Additionally, the publisher does not make this glaring omission very apparent. Get some AI to play against like almost all the other board games out there and my opinion of the game will go up.

UPDATE.... They are working on an AI, so I will upgrade rating to 4-star. Maybe 5-star later if the AI is any good.

Love it... Wish more people played online.

I love the game--the board, the graphics, the gameplay... Its all great!

I wish that more people played online--after reading the rules, I don't get a game until I play it and I had to play myself because there was no one to play with online. I've tried to find a competitor about 5-6 times but no luck. I appreciate the developer's suggestion to look for a partner at the top of the hour... But it just hasn't worked for me.

Can't wait for the AI!

Fun game

I enjoyed playing this game and I look forward to updates. I think this game is very close to being truly great.

I have a number of ideas for improvements that would help take it to the next level.

When a Communique card comes up, it is hard to know exactly what it does. You can tap the card to flip it over and get a funny quote, but it would be more useful to get the rules synopsis for the card right there.

The rules need to be built into the game. When I tap on the World icon to pull up rules but I dont have WiFi available, it just sits there with a blank screen. That makes this game hard to play on the road or on a plane. If the rules are built in this won't be a problem.

I couldn't steal Cargo when I started on the same port as my opponent. It seems I should be able to do this.

I think there are a few too many disasters rolling. We got stuck on the board a number of times with nowhere to go.

When a player is sitting on a port there is no way to view what the cargo there is. How about an alpha'd view of the cargo?

When using the card that permits me to complete a contract with any Cargo, the interaction didn't quite make sense. I tapped on the cargo and nothing happens. I tappedd again, nothing happens is just dismissed the screen. So I ended turn thinkingit was selected. Nope. Turns out you must tap the much smaller "deliver" button below the contract. This is not intuitive but is easily fixed. Just remove the deliver button and let me tap on the contract.

When tapping world icon to bring up rules, why do I have to click resume twice? This doesn't make any sense. Remove one of the resume prompts.

As an experienced game developer I can recognize just how close you are. Just by fixing some of the nibbling accessibility issues I think you can get there.
