Description
As a Quantum Chromodynamic Cyclotron, or Chromodyne, operator, you are the last line of defense the Earth has against interstellar catastrophe! Should the planet become endangered by an asteroid, comet or some other Massive Extra-Solar Smasher (MESS for short) it is your job to use the Chromodyne to combine exotic matter, shooting it into the MESS and causing it to shrink and eventually phase out of our universe, thus saving the Earth from certain doom! The job isn't easy (and quite possibly thankless) but saving the world seldom is.
Should there be no pending disaster, many a Chromodyne operator enjoys honing his or her skills by finding a rogue black hole and seeing how long they can keep it's mass below a certain size.
Gameplay is a twist on the traditional match-three style, with 5 concentric rings made up of different colored shapes. You have to touch and rotate the rings and line up 3 or more of the same color and shape in a line going towards the center in order to clean up the MESS and add to your score.
Chromodyne offers two exciting play modes to keep you coming back for more:
* Story Mode describes the epic struggle between a pair of sinister aliens and you, the lone Chromodyne operator, who stands between the Earth and the MESSes that the aliens throw at it.
* Survival Mode pits you against an ever-expanding black hole. Keep it from growing too large for as long as you can!

Great game, a few fixes--4 stars!
Chromodyne is a funny & unique take on match-3 type puzzles. You are rotating rings to make your matches before a nefarious stinky shoe or glazed donut kills you. Ridiculous off-the-wall humor adds personality to this game. My wishes are the ability to skip the level cutscreens with one button, especially when you are restarting a level and if it is possible, could the dev fix the touch responsiveness when selecting a ring? I have somewhat tiny fingers, yet I find that my touch picks up the wrong ring every once in a while.
Good puzzler, needs a few upgrades
Mini review: Chromodyne is a fun little puzzler that is a take on the match 3 genre. It is unique yet simple, and you will understand the gameplay in seconds. Basically, what you see Is what you get. Watch the video and if you think you will enjoy it, get it. There are no gimmicks here, just good gameplay. Be preapared to practice though, as this game takes some getting used to. I found myself moving slower than a snail for the first level or two, and I'm still pretty slow. Thankfully the game has a good difficulty curve that makes it a challenge but is beatable. I found myself constantly relying on the middle ring because no matter what it is always in a match. I would like the game to move at a faster pace, maybe I'm just slow but I think a faster pace would benefit the game, I don't really know how to implement this.
Graphically it looks pretty nice, the shapes look good, backgrounds could use some work and animation.
I didn't test any sound and I don't even know if there is any.
Overall this is a neat little puzzler that I think needs a speed boost, upgraded graphics, and a few more modes to become great.

A pretty decent match 3 puzzler !
The gameplay consists of spinning five rings of "Exotic Matter" around to line up 3 of the same which shoots them into whatever Massive Extra-Solar Smasher is threatening the planet you're protecting. Once enough matter has been shot into this MESS, it's destroyed and you move on to the next mission. There are two gameplay modes: Storyline and Survival, pretty self explanatory. The cutscenes are funny and there is music/sound effects which I like but there is no option to play your own music. Overall this game is worth $1.99 but at $0.99, it's a steal !! BTW - I'm running it on an 3G Touch with 3.x OS with no issues.
