Update still has problems

This rating is higher than it has been. While the last update greatly improved stability, the app is still plagued by performance issues.

Among them:
1. Sometimes, the active place on the map locks to a board edge, and you can't change it. While technically not a crash, it still requires a reboot of the iPad to clear.
2. The combat animations can sometimes slow down drastically. Once this problem occurs, all combat animations suffer this problem. A reboot of the iPad clears the problem.
3. Dragging the map is problematic when the active unit is located in the extreme latitudes. It will generally only move left or right. Moving towards the equator isn't possible without zooming out.
4. There are a large number of problems with the game's version of the International Date Line. You can't attack across it, and navigating a unit across it takes great patience.
5. The combat video will stutter when a "great general" is involved.
6. If you play the game with the sound off, the game will sometimes decide that "muted" means full volume. And a reboot of the iPad clears the problem.

current version crashes frequently.

okay, it crashes less now, but it still crashes.
here are a list of notable bugs still in the game.
* save games arent always saved! Even when i manually save, in a non-icloud slot, when i restart the game later, its over one or more turns back before the save!

* game goes laggy sometimes and the only way to fix is to quit and remove thr app from the tray, effectively killing the app. Often this will introduce the save game issue.

* Battle animations that played fine in the past now are jumpy. (watch when u earn a general and the battle anim plays)

i cant help but notice, big mainstream publishers like 2k do not support their apps very well. If this was an indie developer, i think they would dedicate more time to bug checking their code.

Is it just that 2k cannot afford to setup a continous build server and unit test framework for their games? Seems unlikely, more like poor management or greed and lack of developer hours focused on this update. Sad, an indie team with the rights to this game would make something really terrific, but instead we get this barely playable version, for over two years.

Great game pity about the performance

Really enjoy the game but found that as I moved to the more advanced levels the game play started to seriously deteriorate. Once there are a number of different units and cities, eventually the game became unplayable. It first starts with the game "freezing" during the fight sequences and eventually it takes forever just to make a move. Had hours of fun in the easy levels. Purchased the game after all the glitches were "fixed" according to the other reviews I read before getting the game.
