Description
The Dakar Rally is one of the world’s most famous and most fascinating motorsport events. For two weeks, 140 participants will tackle the biggest challenge offered by motorsport. While driving through Argentina and Chile they will traverse the notorious Atacama desert and cross the mountain ranges of the Andes twice. Volkswagen, too, will take on this endurance test from 02 to 16 January with the aim of repeating last year’s triumph. The automobile manufacturer will field five Race Touareg 2 vehicles powered by TDI engines for Carlos Sainz, Giniel de Villiers and company.
App for iPhone and iPod Touch will provide all the news, results as well as current photographs, audios and videos relating to the event. From high-tech nomads for high-tech nomads: experience the whole fascination of the world’s toughest rally raid and the Volkswagen factory commitment anywhere anytime in your trouser pockets.

No bike results
Not a bad app but the omission of the bike results is a major flaw and wouldn't have been too much effort to include. The bikes are one of the favorites of the Dakar, if this app needed to be paid for I wouldn't spend money on it.
So much more than a VW commercial!
If you are a true motorsport enthusiast, you will absolutely love this, and even if you just want to get the results faster than on Versus tv this is a great way to follow the rally without paying for it. While the photos section is all VW Toureg, remember that they are running 1, 2, and 3 with the closest competitor over 2 hours behind! There are unbiased videos catching the days progres and bonus videos of the VW's day in the dirt. Too bad VW doesn't have a bike or quad entry or we might have better coverage of those races.
Very cool technology section with an inside look at the Race Toureg modified for the Dakar test. Detailed stage by stage information including route summary, mileage, and more.
