Stalking Prey Was Never So Much Fun
Deer Hunter 3D is a marked improvement over the already fun app, iHunt 3D. The graphics are leaps ahead of the latter, allowing for more varied and intriguing game play. This is one of those games you will not put down for hours.
I had Glu's game on a Nokia back when, so I was comfortable with the objectives. DH3D has much more in the way of stats, where you can check out your kills in all kinds of way -- how much they weighed, how many points you got, even (with the help of white or red arrows, depending on shot) where you felled each animal on their body. You also get to unlock about 5-6 different weapons, depending on objectives reached.
Here's a tip: don't automatically go to the next location as a Rookie, once you've unlocked certain weapons etc. in the first categories.
Stick to it, until you get to Master status, at least. It gives you more practise, the animals go from deer, to moose to bears (the best), and you have a more forgiving target area to hit consequently. Do not hit doe. Being undersized, they give you no points, something to consider as you only have 5 spaces in your trophy walls for a day's shoot, so hunt only the biggest game.
Having said that, this game is not worth $5.99. There are just three hunting areas available, in the American Midwest, Northern Europe, and Western Russia. The variety of animals and locations are fine, but it can get repetitive after a while.
This is the archtypical great $3.99 game, and I fancy would be a Top 10 game immediately, if priced like that.
