Dictamus Free offers all functions of Dictamus, but limits each single dictation to a length of 30 seconds (24 hours in the full version) and manages no more than 5 dictations at the same time (limited only by available memory in the full version).
Note to iPod Touch users: Only 2nd generation or higher iPod Touches with an external microphone (e.g. headset) are suitable for dictations with Dictamus.

For Dragon Naturally Speaking
I have only used this for a short time but the features are better than those I have on various mid-range priced digital voice recorders. I have a locked down Windows Vista laptop I use for work and am not allowed to install 3rd party software, such as required for digital voice recorders. Since this software allows me to transfer the .wav file over a Wi-Fi network, I have no problem getting it onto my laptop. In addition I can use a travel size Wi-Fi access point without an internet connection to transfer the file, because I still get an IP address for a local network. I use this app with both my iPad and iPod touch, both giving me good sound quality when used with the standard remote microphone/earbuds.

Best professional dictation app out there. Will be 5 stars when it will work with exchange server email.
An excellent app!
I wrote a 4-star review previously; I'm upgrading to 5. I am very pleased (as is my transcriptionist) with the smaller file size, with no loss of quality. Now that I've upgraded to a 4s the speed is great too. I couldn't be happier!
