BAD, Very BAD Controls
The swipe control does not work and the D pad is too small to be usable. Download the lite version first and see for yourself. You'll save yourself three bucks.

The controls could be much better. The flick doesn't seem to respond well for me at all. Might get better over time.
The d-pad version of controls works, but could be larger.
Okay, so now that they've finally fixed the 4.0 issue...
Playing screen in both games (the original and the remix) is extremely small, although somewhat more tolerable in the remix. Controls are not very sensitive and those who loved DigDug in the past know that you have to be able to cut sharp corners, make sudden turns and get very close to enemies to play the game right. That becomes a real challenge in this version. Neither set of controls work very well. They should have made the controls completely touch-and-swipe based, which would open up much more of the screen area. Okay, so you can touch and swipe somewhat in this version but it's poorly realized. Even though this is a relatively new app the game has been around for so long on so many different platforms, all made by Namco Bandai, that they should have worked out some of these issues before releasing the app. Sound effects and movement on the screen is spot-on to the original but the area is so small and the controls so clunky that the game is almost unplayable. One of those games that probably works great on an iPad but that's no excuse for such a shoddy version on the iPod. Overall a HUGE disappointment. Needs some major work.
