Has Potential, but...
...it definitely needs a few things: - Overall, it functions well and I appreciate that something like this is even available but I'm not a big fan of having to go through Google Maps unless I want to use them. I'd much rather have the app pull up a list of doctors by town/city and, if I want more info., I can pull up the map or a more detailed information page (like Yelp). Going straight to Google Maps makes me feel like I could have just Googled this information, which is actually true. Maybe this is a little easier but not much at all. Based on the quality of apps on iTunes that cost $2, there's a certain level of expectation that this app does not meet. - The ability to choose a location (i.e. city/town choices) would be nice to have. I'm not sure if that entails a lot of extra work to add that feature but it would be a very nice option. - A Bookmarks bar at the bottom. Any reference or utility where you might want to refer to something again really needs this feature. One thing I don't agree with is the disclaimer: "We do not encourage you to use our application if you are in an emergency." That's one specific reason we would have this app. on our phone. When traveling, why else would you need to find a doctor? If it wasn't an emergency, I'd wait until I returned home. All in all, I think this is a nice app to have, so if you want something that could be a real help when you're in a pinch, I recommend it. I only give it two stars because it really needs to be better and have a couple of more features (as listed above). As it improves, I'll definitely up my score. As it is, I feel like it's 2.5 stars and honestly not worth more than $2 now. It really should be $0.99 until it's better.
