Description
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Broadband Test application provides consumers with information about the quality and speed of their mobile data connection. Test the upload speed, download speed, and latency of your mobile broadband connection and share your results with a simple email export.
Results may be pooled to analyze the quality and coverage of mobile broadband connections across the United States as part of a larger effort by the FCC to identify areas with insufficient or nonexistent access to broadband.
* Please note that test results can vary based on several factors including location, end-user hardware, network congestion, and time of day.

Completely BOGUS
The app does NOT check to see if you have Wifi enabled. All it is measuring is the speed of your DSL or Cable connection at the rate your Wifi supports.
*** disable Wifi before running the app ***
The FCC needs to fix the app and delete all the gathered data before making policy based on this app.
Sometimes the gov does things really well, like this app
FCC wants to make sure everybody in the US has broadband access at decent speeds. What private company would be motivated to do that?
Quite useful
Diferantiates between WiFi and Cell, but not Edge and 3G. Ability to set displayed units in settings. Luckly I've not had the problems mentioned in the other reviews.
