* Regarding the Blue Mikey and Alesis ProTrack *
As of spring 2010, Apple no longer supports analog audio input via the 30-pin connector on iOS devices. Consequently, accessories such as the Blue Mikey and Alesis ProTrack are not compatible with iPad, iPhone 4, 4th-generation iPod touch or future iOS devices.

* Responses to reviews *
In response to the "Unwanted processing" issue noted in the reviews below: FiRe does not apply a high-pass filter or modify incoming audio in any way. We do offer input processing by iZotope. Make sure you have disabled the input processing feature if it is not desired. Tap Settings > Input, then make sure processing is set to "Off".

Best field recorder software for iPhone out there

This product was obviously made by people with a clue compared to others out there that cost over ten times more. It's simple. It's stable. It actually is pretty easy to compress audio and ftp it out of the phone for on-air use. Support is good. For ten bucks, why not try it? Even with the built-in mic you'll be impressed!

Abandoned app?

This is a great recorder for the iPhone, but it sadly does not support audio copy/paste with other audio apps. It's a shame, because it has the best noise reduction while recording, so it would be preferred for collecting source audio before editing in twisted wave on my iPad 2. So close but so far from entry into the post PC era.
