FlagMate is your complete nautical flag reference guide in your pocket.
FlagMate holds all the current flags and letters (along with their single or multiple meaning), numbers and we've even added Semaphore.
Using the iPhone / iPod Touch unique touch interface it’s easy to flick through the flags and then hit the “flip” icon to spin the card over and reveal the answer.
Navigating around the different sections is super simple and the “P” ( port ) button is always available to return you to the top level for you to switch between Letters, Numbers, Semaphore. Also there is a random mode to test your flag knowledge.
The good news is that we are translating the answer text into French, Greek, Spanish and they’ll be more to follow.

What a great app.I love the flash card flip fomat,very user friendly.As a merchant marine I see that flag ettiqute has fallen out of use largely because of the trend to laying lo tech solutions to rest,but to the loss of a very simple effective and dare I say artful way of passing on communications.Might I suggest adding the international code of signals. Certain combinations of individual letters mean more specfic things commonly communicated between ships, ie.SOS. Users would benefit from this addition.All in all I love it!
