I didn't use this app that often before, but this update has made it absolutely epic, especially the painting with effects. Thumbs up!
superb
A quick, simple, efficient way to work with my photos. Brilliant. Speed of transfer is very good. Lots of different tools and options. I like that there are a lot of different categories that saves my time. Also I am able to manage my favourite effects and then apply them quickly to other images. I feel that it is the best and the most useful app on my iPad.
Impressive!
This App is simply impressive and works extremely well with a lot of options and controls for tweaking the defaults to your liking. You can very quickly scroll through 100 different effects by category or simply alphabetical, touch to see a preview, adjust levels, choose to apply or not then pick another effect if you like. The original is not overwritten so you can always just start over from any point you've saved (if you save 4 times you will have 5 images ... the original in your original folder, plus the 4 new versions in a new folder). You can save favorites that you use often in a separate list which is super convenient.
Some of the effects are very similar but the discerning eye of a more avid user will appreciate the added options. I would like to have seen a default or Auto Adjust or Auto Levels for the color options like Gamma, Contrast, and Brightness ... even the most basic image software would have that? I also like the option of opening the image in a square format though it's not very practical for most user printing needs. When you open the photo you can crop any square any size to work with. Not really a necessary function since the cropping tool once open is much more advanced! It gives a ton of options to set any aspect ratio or unconstrained any size or use the original aspect then zoom to any part of photo and crop! Also I've printed 4x6 and even 8x10 full color glossy from originals not cropped way down without any issues in quality which is surprising and I'm sure won't hold true for all photos or types of images ... Image adjustments are perfect for email, slideshows, regular size printing and viewing of course but you shouldn't honestly expect high res printing enlargements off a viewing pad though most images will still look great at 8x10!
I consider myself a photo buff, not a professional by any means but love photography and I have a lot of experience touching up photos using Photoshop. This app is perfect for applying 90% of what casual users use even when using full software on a laptop ... For a few bucks you simply can't beat the level of options and usability for anyone's capabilities, not to mention the super professional touch they've given the interface screen! If you need to do more to adjust your photos you should probably focus of taking better photos lol ;)
