In today's digital world it's nice to slow down and remind ourselves of a different time. If you are like a lot of people, you've replaced your watch with the clock on your cell phone. Well, now that cell phone can be just as beautiful as the watch. In fact, in can be much more grand. With G-Clock, your iPhone or iPod Touch becomes a beautiful and fully functional wall clock, complete with grandfather clock chimes. But these aren't your Grandfather's westminster chimes, oh no. G-Clock's chimes can take on seven different sounds. Just start the app and pop the phone into your pocket; every 15 minutes the chimes will ring out just like that old grandfather clock at your parent's house. Or, if you prefer, adjust the chimes to ring on the half hour or hour. And at the top of every hour, just like pop's clock, the chimes will count out the hour for you.
But that's not all. At night, pop the iPhone into a speaker dock and be lulled to sleep by the tick-tock of the clock. G-Clock accurately recreates the sound of a swinging pendulum in a large grandfather clock. The sound of the ticking, and the chimes for that matter, is fully adjustable. Turn it off during the day, turn it up at night, or any combination of the two. And unlike at least one other grandfather clock app in the app store, G-Clock keeps on "ticking" even when your phone's screen dims.

Needs lots of work
I have 2 GrandFather clocks in my home. I love to hear them chime. I bought this app where I could hear the quarterly and hourly chimes in my bedroom at night along with being able to use when away from home. The chimes sound for the most part great but the following needs work;
1. I need a way of turning this app without rebooting my phone every time I want to turn it off. # 1 thing that needs repaired 1st.
2. Phone call, alarms and I am sure other things cause app to stop working and you have to reboot phone to start it working again.
3. The ticking sound is terrible. It does not even sound close to any clocks I have ever heard. This is a tick/doc sound and not a tic/tic sound. Needs more options like chime portion. I turned the volume all the way down when I used app.
4. The hourly chime is a little slow to start chumming after the quarterly chime rings and I could live with this but I wished you had an option to change the speed on the in-between chimes on the hourly portion. The hourly chime is too slow.
5. I wished you could see the pendulum movement in the bottom portion, like you can in lots of GrandFather clocks. I could do without this but it would be nice.
6. It would be nice if you could also see weights. The would not need to move but that would add a little more.
Fixing items 1 & 2 would get you a 3 star rating. If item 3 were also fixed I would give a 4 star rating. If you fixed item 4 I would give you a 5 star rating. Making items 5 & 6 would make this app fantastic and plus.
Waste of money
Sounds good when it works but usually doesn't. A battery killer even when it's not working!!
DON'T BUY IT
G Clock
Very nice clock. I owned a real Grand Father Clock once, and this G Clock App sounds very nice as if the real one was still there. I use this on the iPad and sounds great at mid volume. The only thing I would ask the Developer to change would be the the clock icon with a more modern clock with a swinging pendulum. Other wise nice clock and I give it 5 stars.
