Description
Shoot your fighter’s missiles to blow away waves of incoming enemy aliens in this classic stage-based shooter. Gameplay is very intuitive. It’s easy to pick-up and play!
Rediscover Galaga’s trademark “dual-fighter” power-up system, in which shooting ability is enhanced by rescuing captured fighters. This high-risk, high-reward feature has thrilled generations of players. Test your abilities with the interleaved “challenging stages”.
"Galaga Remix" offers play of both the original 1980’s arcade game, and an enhanced remix version with extra features including intense boss battles, 9 power-ups types, and a variety of background images illustrating your fighter’s journey from Earth to the Galaga system.

Update
update for iOS4 now available. Works great, just like the old arcade game. remix version look good visually. Accelerometer play could smoother. Does not use multitasking. If you leave a current game and return to it via the multitask icon, the game restarts from scratch.
Faithful update of a great classic.
This game faithfully recreates the original Galaga and gives the series a fresh coat of paint while retaining the original core gameplay elements. I would definitely recommend to any fan of the series.
This is not to say that the game is perfect however, I think the controls leave a lot to be desired. In remix mode, you are offered three options, digital, slider and accelerometer, however, as far as I'm concerned slider is the only usable control scheme. In digital and accelerometer, your ships speed is fixed and is very slow, in slider you can accurately control how fast your ship moves and escape fire much quicker than would be possible with the other options. Now, for me, slider is a perfectly adequate control scheme but it bothers me that they would offer alternatives when they are so clearly inferior to the point of being downright broken. It should be noted that this is not a problem when playing classic mode, in classic mode all three controls methods move the ship at the same speed.
I think Namco can find a better solution to controlling this game, but regardless of this issue, I've accepted that slider is the only way to play remix mode and after doing so I found myself enjoying the game very very much.
