Needs MORE, MORE, AND MORE!
*If you want to know how to get a hardware engineer than click more on this review and on the bottom it will say how*
Game Dev Story is a great game, I have been addicted for many hours, and even when I beat the game I just come back for more. It is one of those games that you will play it again and again with no hesitation. HOWEVER, it needs a lot more. In my opinion, it kind of makes me feel like your company (in the game) is in the shadows and when you release a game and someone is at a game store and sees your games then they'd say "I never knew Sunshine Inc. (just an example company) released a game." It needs the stuff I listed below:
• The ability to tell your fans about your company releasing a game (other than advertising, like with an interview, a trailer video, exc.)
• When you release a console then other companies can develop games for your console
• The ability to test try your game for a minute before you release it, so you can decide if you will release it or throw it away
• In Gamedex, you can make a list of games that you are going to release in the future, and if you're working on a console, then your fans can test it out
• Design how your console looks and functions, it shouldn't always look the same and function the same
• Design the video game cover
• Have a website for your company, and you can do something kind of like what Nintendo does, you can have an online shop for your company and an online reward club for your company. You can a hire more employees in another building to ship online orders and rewards
• Your game name can be longer than 14 characters
GET RID OF THIS:
• Blackouts. I might have 257 fun on my game, then a blackout occurs and I would have a lot less, for example, after that blackout I would have 112 fun. You should do what another reviewer said, at every percent your company saves the game in progress on a CD or disk
The game is so fun I am not dropping it down even 1 star for lacking some things. Kairosoft, I know I'm asking for a lot but please do all of this.
*HOW TO GET A HARDWARE ENGINEER: You have to level up one of your employees to level 5 on all of the available jobs (sound engineer, designer, producer, exc.). You need the job switching papers from the salesman that comes on every 1st week of May. After you level that person up to level 5 on all jobs, you need to use another job switching paper to switch the person's job to Hardware Engineer. After that you can start creating consoles. Hope it helps.
Good, needs update
Works if you go through the awards slow. Though: I have noticed that my games have been a lot worse since the update and I don't get award cred for things I already did.
This is an amazing game. However, I do have some suggestions:
First GET RID OF THE BLACKOUTS/EQUIP FAILURES!!!!!! I think a company with the best office should have power generators and backup disks. Then make it so you can make as many consoles as you have hardware engineers.
After that...
Make more parameters for consoles such as hard disk space, RAM, Internet, graphics memory, speed (MHz/kHz), make it so your console can use a app store instead of a cartridge or disk if it has Internet capability, and add 8-bit to the console types list.
Make it so that the other companies develop games for your console just like you develop for theirs.
Make console graphics more specific to different parameters.
Also I found a bug:
The Snow Duck sold 12,943,428 units
The game Pokey Moan!5 sold 18,259,572 units on the Snow Duck!!
That is not possible!
Do all that and this game will be the best on the App Store!
Yay!
Awards crash has been fixed!
