*** IMPORTANT ***

This game is very challenging ...  It is a Thinking Man's Action Tower Defense!

This means it is intense and requires you to really grasp the fundamentals of how each Tower needs to be utilized to win.  If you are playing too casually, you will lose... each level is balanced so that you have to actually beat it by out-thinking it!

Not bad but it needs some work.

After sinking a good 4-6 hours into this free lite version, I must say the game has it's fun moments. The graphics are pretty descent, sound is pretty good, and the gameplay is fairly simple to understand. Unfortunately the game feels just unpolished enough to not make me part with my $1.99 for the full version.

The problems with this game (which are keeping me from buying it) are:

1) The levels seem too difficult. I've played many tower defense games and this one is so tedious (upgrading 30 towers just to make sure you make it to the end is a huge pain) that I don't find it that enjoyable. Even medium difficulty levels take numerous retries to pass and then many more retries to ace. It would be different if your numerous retries felt earned, but instead you could play half a level with no problems at all and then all of a sudden a wave comes by the wipes you out. Even worse, you can try preparing for this apocalyptic wave by building towers that won't help you out before that wave hits. I really wish this game was more balanced like PixelJunk Monsters on PS3 so that when you finally do find the right tower combination your victory is all but guaranteed.

2) To win most levels you just have to worry about the quantity of missile towers. If you are stuck just build tons of missile towers if you have the funds and I can nearly guarantee that you will beat the level fairly easily. Upgrading towers to their maximum potential is not only tedious BUT also usually doesn't pay off as well as you would think. In some cases (such as the cannons and missiles) the maxed out version can be somewhat less effective than the 2nd to maxed out version. In my opinion it is ridiculous to need some 40 towers all over each other just to pass the level. There's just no elegance to it, all the towers are a huge mess and trying to touch the screen to upgrade a particular tower can sometimes be a nightmare. The only cool part is when you do have 40 missile towers blasting away at the enemy it your screen turns into a virtual fireworks display.

3) Tower A.I. is brain dead at times. A good example is when you are on the hardest level called "The Eye" and you have a tower that should try to stop the enemy right near your base but instead focuses on the new enemy that just popped in the screen which means that older enemy can stroll right in and bam game over. I also hate how the missile tower will target an enemy that is soon to be killed by a cannon so once that missiles and the enemy gets killed by the cannon that missile just straightens its path and flies off the screen. WHY on Earth does the missile not target the one of 20 enemies behind the guy that just got blown up?!?!

4) After you die you might get some annoying phrase pop up on the screen such as "awwww you got pwned" or "There is no such thing as second place" (or something along those lines). Not only are catchphrases like this annoying but it makes the game feel cheap, as if some teenagers made it as some thing to do in their spare time. I dunno about you but I hate insanely hard games that love to mock you when they don't work well enough to make success a half way easy thing to accomplish. Just seems to be lacking that polish to make me want to keep playing.

Overall the price is right, but the gameplay is too sloppy, too difficult, and way too tedious to make this a game you just can't live without.
