Cool App
Very fun to play. Only one thing holds it back. The same criticism everyone keeps repeating:
You need to be able to see the answer after you guess incorrectly! It's the only way to ever learn from your mistakes and improve. As it is now -- the map zooms OUT and THEN shows you the right answer. That's basically useless since it's impossible to see it.
If this issue was addressed would update my rating to 5 stars for sure.
Great game!!!
This is a really nice geography game...the best one in the app store in fact. It reminds me of the great free app for the PC called Settera. I've been looking for an iPhone "Settera" for a long time and finally found one! By the way, the 1.1 update addressed the other reviewers issue with not getting to see the correct answer..(although it could have been looked up on one's own with wikipedia or any number of online sites). Overall this is a great, well made geography app and the best one of it's kind!!!! Highly recomended!
Very fun - but please change to zoom in on correct location
I was checking the store every few weeks for a geography quiz just like this and was immensely happy to see Geotap recently. I got hooked on Traveler IQ when it went the rounds a couple years ago. When I got the iphone I knew it would be perfect for a game like this. I've had so much fun playing Geotap, sometimes together with my husband (whose big fingers always miss the mark). The bonus rounds are a great addition. What I would like, as many others have said, is for correct locations to be identified more clearly when you pick incorrectly. I really began to learn my geography on Traveler IQ (it always shows the correct location clearly so I could get it the next time around), but feel stymied by Geotap in this regard.
