Ruined!
This is, quite simply, the worst update to an iOS app that I've ever seen. Whatever benefits any new features may have brought were completely erased by the removal of key features. The ability to organize and customize the aisles and their order was the most useful feature of the whole application. It allowed me to very quick and efficient as I moved through a store.
That feature is now gone. The aisles are in alphabetical order, and don't think I'll be able to convince local merchants to rearrange their goods in alphabetical order. This suggests a complete and total disconnect from the application's users.
I see other signs of neglect. On my iPad, the table cells showing the items on the Lists are very wide. However, the cells have been poorly designed, truncating the names of items so much that it's difficult to tell if you're selecting the right one. The truncation looks absurd, since each cell has a tremendous amount of white space available to display longer names.
Finally, the breezy attempt to recognize customer dissatisfaction in the latest release notes ("We're bummed...) seems dismissive and insincere.
It's time for a new grocery list app.
Horrible upgrade, I mean great downgrade
The app was great before. Separate favorites lists were perfect. Now merged and unworkable. Let's take it back a version and then do a thoughtful upgrade that doesn't negate all of the good features.
Upgrade Downgraded usefulness
I've used this app happily for years, but now have to find a different app. There are many grocery checklist apps, but this one allowed me to define and arrange aisles to match the store. The upgrade removed this capability, so it is now useless for me. In addition, the favorites were only a click away at the bottom of the screen, but now require moving back to the lists menu, which is much less convenient. Instead, the bottom bar now contains options that I never use. Finally, there are now fewer items displayed at a time on the screen, which makes the app more cumbersome. As someone else said, I would pay to get the old app back!
