GyroSynth is a gesture driven music synthesizer for the iPhone 4, which takes full adventage of the gyroscope. You can play and modulate the sound by moving your hand through the air - just like the legendary Theremin instrument.
GyroSynth makes use of the gyroscope to measure true roll, pitch, and yaw and translates them to sound parameters like pitch, volume, modulation or filter cutoff. Thanks to phenomenal accuracy (2000 degrees), you can play melodies perfectly in tune.

This app is amazing!
Make super weird creepy sounds by recording your own voice and then synthesizing. The possible sounds are apparently limitless. Would love to see an orchestra with this app.
Seems to be a great way to create your very own horror movie sounds. I'm sure it's good for music as well, but wow is it fun to make unique strange noises by moving the iPod touch around.
A serious musical instrument for 99 cents
Picked this up after seeing the demo videos on their website. I've seen plenty of demos of people making music with an app but I'm too musically un-inclined to do as well.
What do you know, I can make some pretty good music with GyroSynth! Got dialed into it within 5 minutes and started wailing away on 'Baby, Please Don't Go' with nary a flub.
GS produces some good sounding notes, unlike a lot of other synth app.
Buy it and and have some fun.
Be aware though that it only works with Apple's newest devices that have a gyroscope, like the iPhone 4, latest Touch, and iPad 2.

Very inventive! Slick spatial interface. Could use some control over the oscillators- bur until then, I'll work on my pitch! Just great.
