Description
Introducing the first iPhone App that makes it possible for you to see exactly what is being said to you on every call. It's called Hamilton Mobile CapTel® . Similar to captions on television, you'll be able to listen to what you can, and you'll be able to read what you can't hear.
Hamilton Mobile CapTel works on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
You must have the following in order to enjoy the benefits of captioned calls on your iPhone:
Hamilton CapTel account – requires a one-time registration, a voice plan, data plan, simultaneous voice and data capability*, and a headset that works with hearing aids or cochlear implants – wired or bluetooth.
Place and receive calls with Hamilton Mobile CapTel on your iPhone and never again miss a word they say! For details on how to place and receive calls, visit the Mobile section of www.HamiltonCapTel.com.
Best of all, Hamilton Mobile CapTel is a free, nationwide service designed for people who are hard of hearing or who have difficulty hearing on the phone. So if you've ever missed out on what was being said during a telephone call – you no longer need to.
* Some 3G networks do not support simultaneous voice and data capability. With the use of WiFi, you may use voice and data simultaneously. Please refer to your wireless carrier for their network capacity with simultaneous voice and data usage

What's New in Version 1.3.1
This update enhances compatibility with iOS 4.3.
With this update, you can easily save calls and print saved conversations with compatible printers! These new features are available with version 1.3 of the Hamilton Mobile CapTel iPhone App.
Saving calls has never been easier. With this update, the app will automatically save the captions from your Hamilton Mobile CapTel calls. You will also have the ability to turn this feature off and receive prompts to save each call once it is complete. This setting can be modified in the Options tab on the Hamilton Mobile CapTel iPhone App.
The new print feature allows you to use AirPrint, which has been made available within iOS 4.2 and 4.3 on your iPhone. You can print the captions of your Hamilton Mobile CapTel calls by simply opening the saved call you wish to print, and clicking on the “Action” icon located at the top right corner of the screen. Customer Reviews
crashes every time
im a hamilton customer... so i expect things to work decent... however.. this app is not behaving... everytime i open it it stalls.. then crashes... thats on my iphone 3... did hamilton blow off the iphone 3g? it opens properly on my ipad2.... problem is.. my ipad is not a phone. whats the problem?
Good but not perfect
I'm deaf and if your deaf getting this app on your phone will get you excited enough alone to rate it 5 stars but it's not worth all 5.
The app is very slow in translating the captions and somtimes doesn't get the words right.
Also when people call you they have to dial a 1-800 number then your number in order for you to use the app when they call or else your gonna have to call them every single time.
Another thing is you have to sign up for Hamilton.com to use this app and log in when you open the app. The logging in takes a long process unless you have fast Internet and you have to do it everytime you open the app to call someone.
Saving your conversations is a good feature this app uses and is helpful to you if you forgot what was said you can go back and read it.
This app needs an update ASAP but is fantastic for all deaf customers. GET IT NOW!!
