This is a game like none other I've ever played, I'll say that. Whether that's a good thing, or a bad thing, I still have yet to figure out.
There are only three characters available for free. The warrior, rogue, and witch. To play, you tell them to either run, or stay. You don't tell them to attack, use potions, or do special maneuvers. If they die, you can revive them for 100 gold. You can also pick up a character, and simply place him or her on the other side of an enemy, making it easier to overcome a single enemy, or a death sentence for your player if he's outnumbered.
There is a market in between every two short levels. That sounds great, but there is only ever one thing for each player there. First market is a weapon for each three. Second market has new clothes or armor for each one. The third has new hats for each, etc. Not a big choice, and really, it has the feel that you have to buy the items in the market.
Because you can only control your players to move to the right, if all your players are on the right side of an enemy, and he drops a chest when he dies, you can't run left to get it! Silly, I know. Same with potions and any other thing an enemy might drop. The chests also cost money to open, which is really whacked out because you found them in the first place. Why pay money to open it?? I couldn't find anywhere to buy potions. Also, if you're lucky enough to pick up a nice sword for your warrior, there is literally no way to access the stats page or backpack through the entire level. You must wait to see how it compares with your current sword after you're done with the two levels you're currently going through.
I'm still not fully convinced that I was even having fun. It was more like fighting against the lack of controls UI in general.
2 out of five stars, and that's only because I'm in a good mood. Otherwise, I'll never play this game again, and I'm 100% sure I won't regret deleting it.
