Love it!
Just a couple of things it needs to be five stars.
1. Optional joystick control.
2. Costumes like on the PS2 version!
3. More levels.
4. Create your own level.
the controls are not ideal.
i revisit this from time to time because i love katamari games, but after awhile, when i've rolled up a lot of stuff, i realize why i don't play it very often: the awful controls.
at first, they're actually not bad, even if they could be a lot better. moving around is manageable. there are helpful and logically placed buttons to help you turn around or move left and right.
but when you've rolled up a lot of things, the katamari rolls way too fast to catch up with your input. 90% of the time involves not trying to beat the level but trying to conquer the controls. an added minus is that the camera whips around violently, which induces slight nausea. yay!
i'm glad they retroactively added game center achievements, but what they really should do (but won't) is offer up a completely different control scheme. two on-screen analog sticks maybe. not the best idea but miles ahead of what we've got here.
Needs improvement
Good, fun game, but has a LOT of room for improvement. First, tilt controls make it so that you can hardly see the screen at many times and make it nearly impossible to stay on narrow places. Also, in level 2 story I didn't know what the heck it was. I played like five times before I figured out that it was the person. Also, you have to get almost everything to get the requests object. Finally, the beeping with only 30 sec. left is annoying and distracting. Other than those it's an ok game PS2 is better.
