An Amazing App
Worth five times the price.
Works reliably, securely, and efficiently.
Protip: Save your photos to a Dropbox folder so your recordings are instantly saved offsite. So even if someone swipes your computer, you still have the evidence of their crime.
Fantastic app
I use this with a Foscam 8918 ip camera and it has been working flawlessly for over a month. The creators are very responsive on their web forum for problems or requests. I am waiting for some more niceties in the program like zone motion detection. All in all a great program. They now included tilt/pan for my cam. Sweet!
Worth every penny, plus donation
This app works well. I use it to monitor my condo which I leave unoccupied most of the year.
I have the source client running on on older LG netbook running Win XP, and it is stable and reliable. I monitor both the netbook's built-in web cam, and a Foscam wireless IP cam.
The support for panning of the Foscam in the newest version of the app works, but is a little bit slow and cumbersome. But at least I can pan now.
Regarding IP cams--they can be very difficult to set up and get to work so they can be accessed outside of a local network, especially if you are behind multiple firewalls or routers. Such is my case, but iCam made it very easy to monitor my Foscam without much hassle.
Overall, I'm very happy with this app and the service it provides. I was happy to donate a little extra to keep their system functional. I don't understand why people are getting upset about this. If you think something is worth it, then pay a little for it. If not, don't.
