INTUITIVE, GORGEOUS UI
Upon launch, use the large keypad to tap in the price of your meal.
Swipe the slider to set the percentage. The App remembers your preference.
Split the bill evenly among friends using the second slider. The tips get split too.
Adapts to your currency and to these languages: English, Spanish (more coming soon).
Use the "Mirror" mode to confirm that every food charge in your credit card bill has mirrored digits (like $37.73). The numbers in the amount won’t reflect each other if someone tried to skim a bit off the top.

The BEST and You'll Want to Know WHY...
Benefits To You:
Every person I know who has an iPod Touch or iPhone simply loves this app (including me). I don't know too many people who like trying to figure out a tip when the bill arrives. I hear a lot of, "How much do I leave? Does this look like enough?"
1) Instantly get the total bill and the tip amount painlessly and accurately.
2) If you're in a group situation, it gives the price each person owes on the bill. No more worrying about enough being contributed to the bill.
3) Very user friendly and easy to use.
If you're still on the fence to buy this for about the price of a pack of gum, do it, you will not be disappointed!
Customer Service:
You can have the best app on the planet, but if you don't care about your customers and responding to them, this would be a huge deterrent for me. Carlos "gets it", and has treated me like I'm his #1 priority when I've e-mailed in.
Mirror Feature:

From Free to Paid:
I think this was a fair strategy. You'll gain a larger user base and receive more feedback if the item is "free" v.s. "paid." More feedback also means a better app for all of us. In the case of investing a lot of time writing this app, and it being a success, he should be rewarded.
A considerable amount of money was spent on your device (iPod Touch or iPhone), plus a case possibly, and then valueable time to negatively review the app because of a $0.99 price tag...? He's also been fair to the users who downloaded the app for free. Future updates remain free.
Again, I don't know too many people who like figuring out the tip at a restaurant. The mirror feature could get your money back and then some. Consider the $0.99 well worth it in the long run.
Best tip calculator
I based my choice of a tip calculator on the reviews and I am not disappointed. Carlos Perez has done an outstanding job of making an easy-to-use application in the spirit of the iPhone. I hope they give out best-application awards - this one is a winner.

What is with all the people on here making free apps, getting a bunch of downloads, and then charging for them to make them skyrocket to the top of the paid app list?!
