Best in Class
This shopping app is simply the best one that I have tried. There are a couple things that I would like it to do that it does not, but what it does do, it does very well.
This app is free, does not have ads, and is not a featureless app like many other grocery shopping apps are, most of which seem to just be trying to sell a paid version.
SkyGrocery has a very large database, and it is editable. The aisles are also editable. The UI is clean, simple and make sense. So far the app has been very stable.
There are a couple things it does not do (at least, not yet). You cannot sync. You cannot track prices. You cannot add/edit aisle icons (the preloaded ones will probably serve most people but those of us who like lots of customization will find the limited choices a bit lean).
The app is certainly five stars, I give it four only because I would like to see the addition of these other features. I reserve a five star rating for apps that meet my needs perfectly.
I strongly suggest that a reader interested in a grocery shopping app download it and try it. It is free so there is no risk of wasting money, only some of your time to evaluate the app for yourself.

After trying so many shopping list apps, I finally found this one. It is completely customizable. There's no need to continue looking through pages & pages of apps after trying this one. It is definitely a "keeper".
A problem I have found is that if you have more than one list set up and you add items to your list from the aisles, those items automatically go to the first list. The problem can be corrected by moving those items from that list to the other list, which is a nice feature of this app. If you add items from the search box they will go to the list you have open. The only other negative I have found is even though the aisle icons can be changed, there is not a good selection to choose from. For this reason I did not assign icons to the aisles I added and there is no way to delete an icon assigned to an aisle other than to delete the aisle and add a new one. Hopefully the developer will consider making these changes. I would have given 5 stars but after contacting email support I did not receive a reply.
