A former newspaper travel editor, she has contributed many articles and photos about Maui to diverse newspapers and magazines. Like the rest of the planet, she loves the island. She has walked Maui, Molokai and Lanai's widest beaches, explored remote bamboo forests, stood under waterfalls, snorkeled over coral reefs and eaten pineapple in the field. She has listened to Hawaiians “talk story” and sighed with pleasure at a crimson Lahaina sunset.

A decisive, insightful app on Maui
As I looked through this app, I liked all the considered judgments I see the author making. These rang true from my experience. Take the Hana write-up, for example. I've been there, and the author's opening comment is so true, that "Hana sticks in the mind like a myth. First, there's the challenge of getting there." That's for sure, the road is a twister. I like that the author also indicates Hana is not for everyone, especially people who want golf, sunset cruises, and luxury shopping. For what might work or not work for a particular traveler, this app is truly informative.

i downloaded this app waiting in line at the airport to go to maui and i couldnt set it down during the 10 hour flight...it helped me find exactly what i wanted to see in maui and i was on a budget!! also on a side note carol Fowler is the best writer!! everthing was sooo interesteing...keep em coming C.F.!

I go to Maui every year and learned a bunch of stuff I didn't know with this app. The author has all the bases covered. I found out about it because she writes a book I already have -- Great Destinations Maui. The app is pretty handy to carry around!!!
