Easy and fast to use, loaded with 64 superb electronic drum kits and beautiful hyper-realistic graphics, DM1 has been designed for a lot of instant fun.
As electronic musicians ourselves, we, at Fingerlab, have developed DM1 with the intention of delivering the perfect mix between fun playability and powerful sonic capacities. We always keep in mind the importance of a beautiful design with the right balance of powerful abilities while avoiding clumsy, overbusy interfaces.

DM1 offers 5 main sections:
1 - THE STEP SEQUENCER frees your imagination with a smart use of the multi-touch screen. Just turn on and off steps in your sequence with the tip of your fingers to create cool beats, or unexpected rhythms!
2 - THE DRUM PADS simply lets you play and record the beat that tickles your fingers. No need to be a first-class drummer, automatic quantize does the work for you.
3 - THE MIXER for quick and subtle sound mixing of your drum kits. Featuring settings for volume, pitch, sample length, custom drum kit element for each channel, mute and solo mode.
4 - THE FX TRACKPADS a creative duo of FX trackpads to distort, modulate and transform your beats. The effects include: Overdrive, Delay, Phaser, Texturizer, Robotizer, Filter and Compressor.
5 - THE SONG COMPOSER allows you to quickly make a song with the beat patterns you have created. Just drag and drop the patterns onto the timeline. Fast and easy.

Pretty nice app, but..
Great sounds, cool interface. A few key improvements I would like to see to make this five stars, (and forgive me if you can already do some of these things, I am still learning the app) :
A hold button for the master pitch control wheel. (but I love how I can hold it as long as I keep my finger on the screen, even after I go to another screen within the app. keep that feature please :)
The ability to add step triplets and 1/6 notes, gotta have my triplets yo.
A major one, ability to change time signature. Please... 4 on the floor gets old afta while.
Another key one, instead of having to double tap to mute, double tap to solo instead, or have the option, because the way it is now it tends to solo for a split second before muting, which doesn't make for clean muting in a live performance setting. It should be one touch to mute, one touch to unmute. Having to go back and forth between double tapping and single tapping to mute sounds is unintuitive.
The ability to have a longer pattern then 4 bars. Really? I hope I just haven't figured out how to do that yet, but so far no luck. I'm not talking about combining patterns in song mode either, I want longer pattern lengths for more interesting loops. 16 or 32 bars is enough.
Add the ability to import custom samples, then we're talking. Take it to tha next level.
Finally, the ability to change the clap sound (for example) to any sound from any set, not just the clap sound from every set. Get my drift? I want to be able to have 4 snares and 2 kicks if I want.

Its ok
Would be better if i could export to a digital work station for better mixing exportin as an audio file via email is not the best option.
Anxious for 3.0
The interface is so pro-looking that its a bit deceiving as to how limited the app is currently. Design lends appearance that this app is FULLY functional in this case means implementing what most serious users are indicating is essential. I still can't believe it doesn't sync to anything or send MIDI note info. HIGH on style, VERY GOOD sound, but NOT THERE in terms of features. $5 is a bit pricey for it as is, though I'd pay $10 if it had the features us customers are screaming loudly and clearly for: full midi implementation w/ sync; import/export of sounds / kits; export of patterns, etc.
What I see from customer feedback and my own opinion: Great start, can't wait for the real thing.
NOTE TO DEVELOPER: Checkout interface preferences on LittleMIDI app. Best integration I've seen yet.
Good work guys, now let's make it GREAT!
