Description
iGlasses is the first practical utility application designed for Apple’s iPhone 3GS to act as a temporary substitute for the times when you forget your reading glasses, or when you just need to magnify something. iGlasses works on iPhone products with a 3.0x mega pixel camera or greater, running iPhone OS 3.1 or later.
iGlasses is simple to operate. Merely select the icon from the home screen and use the slider positioned on the side of the screen (or your fingertips on the screen) to manipulate the image you want to view until you reach the desired magnification. The desired image will stay in focus automatically, and you can maneuver the iPhone to center the screen around the material you wish to view. The application works well in both landscape and portrait formats.
Tips on Using iGlasses:
- You can zoom in and out by using a pinch in/out gesture or by using the scroll bar.
- iGlasses will autofocus the image, but this sometimes takes a second.
- iGlasses does not have a light, so in low light situations make sure the material you are viewing has as much light as possible, and be careful so that the phone and your hand does not cast a shadow over what you are trying to see.

Don't pay for another camera!
After I bought this while at an appointment an needed readers left at home, I realized I could have used my iPhone camera in exactly the same way. Duh!
Waste of money
Save your money for an app that actually does something the normal camera cannot!
