Our children found word problems to be challenging and therefore we wanted to help remedy that with fun topics and multi-media to help in teaching these critical concepts by developing the iLiveMath series of apps. In this app you will find over 26 types of Animals from Africa, educational links, and educational videos with over 1 million randomly generated math word problem questions.
Collaborate with other students and educators using twitter and blogs.
Word problems test the students understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percents.
There are three levels of difficulty which will test young readers from K to 6th grade.
Settings:
Twitter Username and Password, Email, Sound, First Name, blogging options are configurable.
General Instructions:
(1) Review word problems which are dynamically and randomly generated.
(2) Share your question and answer summaries on our community blogsite www.ilivemath.blogspot.com
(3) Email the questions and answers to your educator for review
(4) Or tweet a single question to followers and friends.
(5) Explore related wiki links in a kid safe browser.
(6) Watch fun educational videos after you've correctly answered a certain number of questions correctly in a kid safe view.
Level 1: Addition and Subtraction with numbers 1 to 10
Level 2: Includes Multiplication with numbers 1 to 50
Level 3: Includes Percentages with numbers 1 to 100

SIMPLY FANTASTIC
My child is one of those kids who loves math outside of the math WORD problems, which he hates. All that reading, what's up with that! Finding a good or better yet, a GREAT MATH WORD PROBLEM GAME has been extremely difficult until now. This game is simply FANTASTIC, from the world problems into Wiki which is simply crazy and wonderful. My son is one of those kids who asks on the average of about 4 million questions a day. Endless in what a child can see and research without going into the adult Wiki world. I also love that he can hit "Done" and it flows back into his word problem game with ease. The video touches are simply fun with adorable moments that are captured. We watch those together because he gets so excited. Wonderful Touch!
I loved the Africa App so much, I now have Asia & Ocean's on my iPhone and love that IF we can swing buying an iPad I don't have to re-buy these apps since it downloaded itself into the iPhone, iPod touch & iPad section, nice touch. It makes it nice for those of us watching our pennies! Thank you for that.
I also love that I can go into the preferences and adjust how many videos my child can watch, nice touch.
My wish list, and I've contacted the makers who have been fantastic:
1) I get that the email button is for my child's results, but how about ridding off that and adding a button ONLY on the START PAGE that says "Parents Results Page" so I can touch and get results whenever I want, period. I'd like to see less buttons on the kids word problem page, it takes away from the photo of an adoring animal. I do love that you can hit 'Show Picture' and get a full photo, wonderful and adorable!
2) I don't think the kids need a Twitter button, the owners of this App are working on that. I'd love to see it go completely. That's just me, others may feel different.
3) Keep the video moments coming.
4) How about a TROPHY section for the kids? They can pick cool different trophy's for their collection shelf as the points roll in. Just an idea, as time goes on you may want to toy with this idea.
5) Remember, this is my wish list .... you may feel different!
All in all, I took the time because for those Curios George's out there, this is simply FANTASTIC!
