Glitches, bugs, crashes
I don't recommend for 3GS owners running iOS 4. Crashes on startup, and when I tried to save a track I was given a broken save dialogue that wouldn't work, forcing me to quit ( I couldn't cancel and return to the composition screen).
Even if they fix the bugs, it's hard to enjoy. The app doesn't help you align new sounds on the beat, and the timing between finger tap and sound is off slightly, so it's very hard to make good sounding music.
Looks great, though.
Clever idea, poor execution.
The use of creatures as a medium of music is a new and innovative way to design a music app. This idea alone gives the app huge merit.
However, many technical flaws prevent it from truly shining. It crashes quite a bit, and the responsiveness from the app is very poor. There is a delay between the sound and the tap and that causes the music to sound out of whack. Also, saving will cause the timing to be thrown off considerably.
The music loops are also very, very limited. Customization of the background music needs to be added if this app is going anywhere.
Fix these issues and you'll have a 5 star quality music app.
Waste of a good artist
Downloaded this thinking I could make some silly music videos for the cuts on my cousins new album. I was totally disappointed to learn I could only use their crappy music. Maybe this is designed for kids, but the interfaces are not intuitive enough for them to figure out easily. All in all this is an app that had a good idea, but is missing out on huge money if they would rig it to use the music on your phone/ipod. Maybe it's cuz of licensing rights or something, but I would have been happy if I could have just played it for people on my phone. Since I can't, this app gets deleted today. Boooo
