Description

iPRTG

Keep an eye on your network from wherever you are.

iPRTG is a tool for PRTG Network Monitor version 7.3.5 or higher.

With iPRTG your network monitor is where your iPhone is. iPRTG is a widely featured and easy-to-use network monitor for network administrators using the software PRTG Network Monitor by Paessler AG to monitor and administrate their network. iPRTG is the one and only clear and simple viewer for the entire network monitoring. The iPhone requests the monitoring data directly from the PRTG-Server and iPRTG displays it in an "iPhonic" way.
Check up on server downtimes even when you are traveling and avoid the economic impact of system downtimes.

iPRTG covers all aspects of network monitoring:
+ Up-/downtime
+ Traffic / Usage
+ SNMP
+ NetFlow
+ Packet sniffing
+ Direct access to the PRTG web interface
+ Reporting and Analysis
+ Zoomable charts for the last 48 hours, 30 days and 365 days

„PRTG“ and „Paessler“ are registered trademarks of Paessler AG.

Customer Reviews

Not as good as it could be - use the free interface instead.

I'm a big PRTG fan. We use it as one of our primary monitoring tools in our Enterprise and for the price and features it's an outstanding tool. I've actually been using the mobile interface through Safari on my iPhone for quite some time and have found it indispensible. I was really excited when I saw that there was an iPhone app because I thought it would take what was already available through the mobile web interface and make it better. I have to be honest, I'm very disappointed in this app- especially for $20! I really feel ripped off. I can get all the same info and more for free through the existing web interface (http://xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx:port/iphone/index.htm) in my PRTG installation. The iPhone web interface available for free is MUCH better than the one provided by this app. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but the home page is basically useless and the Alarms page either only shows you the current Alarms, or all sensors. If you have a lot of sensors like we do, scrolling through a few hundred sensors with this interface isn't functional at all. Another reviewer mentioned push and that is key as well. Seriously guys, you could have done so much more with this. From the standpoint of SysAdmin who lives off his iPhone this app is useless. I certainly hope there will be some serious updates to justify my $20 mistake.

Do not delete this review, Apple!

I've submitted two detailed reviews for iPRTG and Apple keeps deleting them. I was not unfair or obnoxious. I don't know why Apple deleted the prior reviews, but it's an unseemly act on their part. So now I'm just going to forgo the fair detail and tell you the bottom line:

This app is worthless.

I've been a happy customer of Paessler's NMS package ,PRTG, for years. They are a great company, except for this defect of a product. I'm guessing they outsourced it to some incompetent engineering firm; I don't think Paessler's own programmers could write an app this bad in their sleep.
But outsourcing doesn't explain Paessler's complete lack of support for iPRTG. That failing is all on them. I've submitted detailed problem reports that have been ignored. Yes, I get the standard form email replies; they ignore the issues and make vague promises. It's been weeks now with no response. I've asked for a refund several times. Silence.
The flaws are numerous and fatal. Dont spend a dime on this. And Apple, if you delete this review, I'll take the issue of review censorship to the press.

OMG. Did I really just pay twenty dollars for this?

I'm such an idiot. Really really wish I'd read the reviews before clicking the "buy" button. Thanks for the tip about the iPhone-sized web interface; I didn't realize that was an option.
