Description
iWatchr is a tool used for calculating score values for the foods you eat. It is a very user friendly application with a cool look that allows you to calculate and track the foods you eat throughout the day without having to spend much time doing it.
Easy to Use.....
iWatchr is very easy to use. You do not have to enter a whole bunch of information just to enter a single food item. What you enter is all that's needed and important to calculate what you are looking for. All the different functions of iWatchr are right there and easily accesible to switch between. Each time you leave a screen but go back to it, your information is temporarily saved so you don't have to keep re-entering it.
Euro-Friendly....
iWatchr is very Euro-friendly. iWatchr has just as much settings and functionality for Europeans using it as it does for Americans that use it. For ex., with a simple settings change, the Bonus Calculator can go from calculating bonus values using pounds(lbs) as your body weight to calculating bonus values using kilograms(kgs) as your body weight. Also, all the calculators and log can be easily changed so you can use whole numbers or decimal numbers as your food's value.
Comparatively better....
iWatchr has as much functionality as most of the other food calculator apps available if not more but the price is dramatically less. iWatchr's price will always stay the same where as most applications of this kind charge 2 or 3 times more. You will be hard pressed to find an application of this kind in the AppStore that offers as much as iWatchr does for the same price!!!

NOTE!!!!
iWatchr is not a weight-loss program in and of itself but a tool for you to use ALONGSIDE a weight-loss program that you are already involved with!!! It does not provide you with all the intimate details of determining certain aspects of any weight-loss program as that is against the law!! It assumes you are already involved with the weight-loss program and is just a helpful tool for the program!!!
This application is not affiliated with nor endorsed by Weight Watchers.

Perfect For Weight Watcher Members and New Members
I have never officially gone to Weight Watcher meetings, but I understand very well how the diet works, because it is the only one that has successfully worked for me. For people who want to count calories, carbs, or anything else, this application is not for you. But if you do want to try the Weight Watcher diet, I'll explain some of the rules to get you started:
- You are allowed a certain amount of points per day for food; eating subtracts points, exercising adds points
- To find your daily alloted points add the answers to these questions:
(1) female- 2 pts, male- 8 pts, nursing mom- 12 pts
(2) Ages: 18to26- 4 pts, 27to37- 3 pts, 38to47- 2 pts, 48to58- 1 pt, over 58- 0 pts
(3) First two digits of weight- (example: weight 174- 17 pts)
(4) Height: under 5'1"- 0 pts, 5'1" to 5'10"- 1 pt, over 5'10"- 2 pts
(5) How do you usually spend your day? mainly sitting down- 0 pts, mainly standing- 2 pts, mainly walking- 4 pts, physically hard work- 6 pts
- Example of how to add: I am female (2), age 23 (4), weight 156 (15), am 5'6" (1), and mainly walk (4). 2+4+15+1+4=26 pts/day
- If your total is less than 18, then your points target is 18, and if your total is more than 44, then your points target is 44.
- To calculate the point value of the food you are eating daily, use the calculator on this application to enter in calories, grams of fat, and grams of dietary fiber up to 4g. Be cautious to check for serving size in everything, because you may be eating potato chips that are 3 pts a serving, but with four servings per bag.
- To add points with exercise on this app, go to the calculator and under bonus enter your weight, time spent exercising, and type of exercise. When the point value is found, go to the log of the day and go as if to enter a food item. Under food type "exercise" and under score type the amount of points you have earned with a negative sign. (example: -3) This will add points back to the points you have left in the day.
- Along with your daily point allowance, you also have a weekly allowance of 35 points (no matter what your daily points value is). These points are optional to use, and come in very handy on a night out, during the holidays, or when you want that extra beer. This application also keeps track of that too; it begins to subtract these extra points when your daily points have run out. You can set these extra weekly points to reset every week, or bi-weekly. If you want to get the best weight loss results, I would recommend using the extra weekly points as little as possible.
- Track everything! This includes zero point items like carrots or lettuce. This helps in accessing exactly what you have eaten in days past, and helps keep track of your servings of fruits and vegetables. Also, keep track of the fluids you drink, this includes coffees, lattes, sodas, alcohols, and water. Some fluids have points that need to be counted, and it is suggested that you drink 6 glasses of water per day.
- This application allows you to skip days, but it is recommended that you stick to the program every day of the week. If you go over your points value one day and have used up all of your weekly points, don't feel discouraged and ruin your day further with a tub of ice cream. Just tell yourself that you'll plan better the next day/week, and eat enough that day of healthier, low point items to be content.
- During the day assess your hunger. Sometimes we eat emotionally and eat more than we should. To avoid this, wait 5-10 minutes
before eating and drink a glass of water; often time you are just thirsty when you feel hungry, and this will allow your stomach to really let you know that it is hungry or if it was getting an emotional craving. During a meal, especially when eating out at restaurants, take time to pause from eating and ask yourself if you are actually hungry or just wanting to eat more.
- At first, it may be a hassle to look up every food item's calorie, fat, and dietary fiber content, but this application allows you to save favorites of food items you eat often. This way you can enter your points more quickly. If you eat out a lot, I would also suggest getting a Restaurant Nutrition application to help with point finding.
- Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day
- choose whole-grain foods when possible
- include two servings of milk products each day, or milk substitutes
- drink at least 6 glasses of water each day
- have 2 tsp of some healthy oil each day; found in fish, nuts, seeds, and vegetable oils
- get a serving or two a day of protein; lean meats, eggs, soy, fish, beans, skinless poultry
- limit added sugar and alcohol- 1 jigger of alcohol (1.5floz.): 2 pts, 1 small glass of wine/champaign (4floz): 2 pts, 1 light beer (12floz): 2pts, 1 regular beer (12floz)- 3 pts
- take a multi-vitamin mineral supplement each day- but with no more than 100% %DV or RNI amounts of any nutrient; a child's vitamin is
ideal.
Hopefully this review has been helpful and has gotten you motivated to taking an exciting step in life. What I love about Weight Watchers is the many options that are available. I can have a glass of wine, a slice of cake, or a latte if I want and still be on a diet. This program has taught me to be more conscious of what I eat and how much I eat.
In conclusion, this application is an excellent tool to use in tracking your points, servings, and progress while using Weight Watchers.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask a question in a review of this app addressed to my username. Good Luck!
Weak app.
This app could be so much better. It only cost me $.99, but I feel ripped off. All it does is keep a list of foods with points and have a points calculator. You can't even add the food item directly from calculating the points. You have to calculate the points, remember it, go to a different screen and type it in. It doesn't have a target points calculator or weight tracker. Considering how simple this thing is, it should not cost anything. Especially when you consider the other weight tracking apps. I keep the free app "Lose It!" installed along with this one so I have an easy way to track my weight and nutrients plus a great interface for looking up the nutrition facts for the foods I eat.
Perfect. Does as advertised
App works well & does as described. I enter the required info (calories, fat & fiber) into the calculator then put the points value & food onto my log which automatically adds them up for the day...just as simple as that.
Not quite sure what AmyInTexas is talking about, she obviously doesn't use weight watchers or she's not writing the review about this app ("rating"? "doing well or not"?)
