Japanese Flip is a learning tool similar to flashcards, but with an intelligent progress tracking system that helps you learn faster. After you "flip" to the answer, you pick if you were Right or Wrong.
The program remembers which Japanese words you have trouble with, and which you have learned well. It focuses on the problematic items, while using longer spans of time between repetitions of learned material.

Simply excellent
I have been studying Japanese for over 20 years. Over time I have acquired a lot of Kanji learning paraphernalia, in physical form such as flash card sets, and software apps for desktop and mobile.
This application has been the most effective for me in learning, and more importantly, remembering kanji and Japanese words.
The learning structure is simple and effective. Just exactly the right amount of information is revealed when it is needed to test you thoroughly. You do need fluency in kana however. The intelligent re-testing based on your strengths and weaknesses is optimal. It works much better than other formats such as multiple-choice. As a mobile app it is perfect for staying proficient anytime, anywhere you have a spare moment. The fonts used are brilliant and clear - essential for learning to recognize complicated kanji. Finally the dictionary content included is accurate and relevant.
While other apps might have more bells and whistles, such as showing stroke animations, practicing the writing of kanji, fully editable lesson files, speech output, etc. etc., this app achieves what it sets out to do: learn Japanese words quickly. Even if you use it for only a few minutes per day your vocabulary will increase. I was amazed at the results. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A powerful review tool
I use this with chalkboard (another app) to review and learn new kanji. I would rate this as one of the best values in learning tools I have found in many years of studying Japanese.
Fun and easy to use
I love this app! It allows me to review Japanese vocab during even the smallest chunks of free time. The app is easy to use and offers a good selection of vocab. I would defiantly recommend this to anyone looking for a simply way to review Japanese.
