Jules Verne's Return to Mysterious Island, inspired by the great Jules Verne’s novel, puts you in the shoes of Mina, a sailor who finds herself stranded on an island somewhere in the south Pacific.
Though the island looks deserted at first, it is dotted with traces of human habitation.

Needs Work
Fun at first but too easy to get stuck. If you don't use items in proper order, only option is to start over. The game designer needs to make sure there are no dead ends. I also experienced the bug where Jep disapears (another start over). Seems like the game is designed so that you need to follow the steps in the walk-through or you can't finish. Forcing users to quit to review the walk through is not very fun. I expect better from Chillingo.
Beautiful adaptation, small annoying bugs
A very enjoyable game, with stunning graphics, nice ambient music, smart puzzles. Reading other reviews it must be said that the current version (1.2) still has some small issues (action signs are sometimes missing, which makes it very hard to notice, background music skips quite regularly). And given the characteristics of the game there is not much replay value. However most complaints of former reviewers seem to be solved. Inventory worked very efficiently for me, items never disappeared. In many cases there are more than one possible solution, combination for one problem so I don't think it is possible to run into a dead end even if you missed to collect some items. As far as I know this is a simplified version of the PC game, with different solutions, less items. This might be the reason for most negative reviewers' confusion, or maybe some people just didn't read the instructions carefully. Playing it through gave me around 6-7 hours of fun which is an excellent value for the 1 dollar i paid for it. Even for the original price it is a worth.
Myst With A Twist
All the praises in the reviews are accurate. Beautiful scenery, mesmerizing game play, always more pleasant surprises at every turn. I'm very happy. Two problems. First, the little one: The inventory management system is a little cumbersome with all the tapping and scrolling. I don't know how to fix it so I can't complain too much, but there it is. My main concern is the basic movement control. It seems to be designed for a mouse, where you drag right to turn right, which is backwards for a touch screen. You should be able to touch a point that you can see and drag it around you to turn in place. By making it backwards, turning in this game gives the appearance of too much visual activity because your finger is cutting across the movement in the opposite direction, blocking your sight as it goes. Please include an option to toggle the movement control between mouse style and touch style.
