Kanji is the most popular Kanji learning app in the iTunes app store
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Kanji" is a must-have flashcards application for anyone learning the Japanese language.
It consists of 2040 kanji characters that are listed for taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test - level 1, level 2, level 3, and level 4. For level 2, level 3 and level 4 kanji there are two exmaple words that use that kanji, and every example has reading in hiragana and the meaning in English.
You can create and save your own kanji lists by selecting kanji that you want to learn from the set of 2040 available kanjis, meanings, and readings. For example, you can create a custom kanji list that consists of all the kanji you need to learn for your next Japanese class. You can create as many lists as you want and can come back to them at any time.
Every kanji in the set is represented with a large image on its own card. Tapping on the card will reveal on and kun reading and meaning.
You can flip quickly through kanji meanings by swiping the card with your finger to move to the next or go back to the previous card. Checking off the card marks it as "mastered" and will remove it from the set for next reviewing. You can also go to the master list to manually select or deselect any of the kanji you want to include or exclude from the review.
Each kanji card has:
- on reading, kun reading, and English tranlsation
- two example words for all level 1, level 2, level 3 and level 4 kanji characters, over 4000 examples in total!
- hiragana reading and English translation for every example
Features:
- a complete set of 2040 kanji characters from the Japanese Language Procifiency Test level 1, level 2, level 3, and level 4
- over 4000 example words with readings in hiragana and meaning in English
- select which kanji you want to learn from the list of level 1, level 2, level 3, and level 4 kanji and create your own custom review and learning lists.
- search for kanji by entering a meaning or drawing the kanji (for drawing you need to enable and choose Chinese keyboard)*.
- intuitive, clean, and simple interface - you move through the cards by swiping them with a finger.
- your kanji selection is saved when you exit the application and remembered for when you come back to study more
- shake to restart going through the list.
- does not require internet connection
*To chose the Chinese keyboard go to: Settings: General -> Keyboard -> International keyboard -> Chinese -> Handwriting

Great Japanese App!
I LOVE your Kanji App!. Very clean design, very well made. The best part is that you have a chance to guess the Kanji before clicking on the answer - nicely done! Also, thank you for including other Kanji combinations.
And thank you for NOT including Romaji. I am currently studying Japanese and it is nice having the pronunciations in Hiragana/Katakana. Also, you really paid attention to details, like correctly formatting the Kanji compounds followed by Hiragana with a "."
Unlike the above 2 posters, I thought this was priced very well given the value I have extracted from it. Please make more Japanese Apps: I will gladly pay more $$ for well done flash cards ~ such a great use of idle time on your iPhone.
Nice App
I like this app. It does exactly what it claims to do. If you are studying for JLPT4--the easiest of the 4 Kanji tests for foreigners in Japan, this covers all the necessary symbols. There are several neat features. The kanji are displayed in large font at the top of the screen, there is a reading/meaning section below that, which is hidden until you touch it, and then there are examples of common usage below that. Additionally, you can choose which of the 103 kanji to practice by using a checklist in the information window. All in all, if you are studying for the aforementioned test, or if you are a beginner who wants to learn some kanji, this is a helpful program.
Highly recommended ! Great Application ! Worth Every Penny !
Thank you, I absolutely love it! Great Application! Please keep updating this application though. Continue to make improvements and advancements to this program. However, don't take away anything from this application, just add! Has a lot of potential to become the next iPhone 'denshi jisho' if improved and updated. I like every feature of this application so far. It is a very effective tool to learn and memorize 2040 kanji characters when travelling to Japan, studying abroad, taking 101-403 college level Japanese language courses, and preparing for the dreadful Japanese Language Proficiency Exam levels 1,2,3,+4. I really hope that the creator fulfill some of the suggestions/requests/customer demand that are listed below. I hope this is a constructive review for you all. Make sure that you press the " i " touchscreen button to change levels of difficulty of kanji characters (four levels total and 2040 different kanji character flash cards). This is a better program than iPhone's 'KanjFlip' and 'ShinKanji' applications. It is worth every penny folks !
Requests To The Creator:
1) For every kanji that has one or more "on-yomi(s)" (sound-based reading(s)), please include a kanji compund for each "on" reading that that specific kanji has. This will help the kanji student to see the various usages of this single kanji character and its imprtance to the Japanese language. There should be at least 3-to-5 examples of different compunds for each kanji on each level of this program. Moreover, each "on-yomi" (sound-based reading) of that kanji should be shown here using kanji compunds and their readings as well. The first and second level flashcards should definitely have kanji compounds, not just the third & fourth level !!!!! If you include this, I would say that it would be a great application for first and second level Japanese Language Proficiency Exam students to use to fine tune there last moments before taking that dreadful exam. Add a page that the sends a user from the main kanji flashcard via a touch-button similar to the " i " touch-button, a page full of compunds and readings. Ooo, that would be fantastic!
2) Add a list of each kanji radical that allows the reader to fully understand what the radical means by itself. For example, there is a radical that is directly tied to "water", so all the kanji that is made up of that radical has something to do with water.
In addition, on that list, show the readings of each kanji radicals right next to the radical characters.
3) Show the stroke of the kanji like in the iPhone application titled "ShinKanji". Instead of having it on the main kanji flashcard page, you could send the user to a new page that takes you to a "kanji stroke" page for the specific kanji. I f you choose to do this please make sure to include a "back" button to get back to that original kanji flashcard page.
4) Eventually, you should add a Japanese-Englsih and English-Japanese dictionary within this program.
5) Add some kind of "home" button or "back" button to enable easier navigation of this application.
JUST BUY IT AND DISREGARD THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACKS!!!!!
