Description
"Buzz Aldrin Doesn’t Know Any Better" is a poem about crazy talking with a street-person outside a pawn shop on a sunny San Francisco afternoon. The reader explores the poem by grabbing individual words, which then pop an entire line out of the mass of text. The presentation of the text, and the interaction style, attempts to evoke something of the experience of trying to pull something sensible out of the stream-of-consciousness-like talk of my interlocutor. The work was originally created to be the middle panel for "Things You’ve Said Before But We Never Heard", a triptych exploring conversations with in different registers, as well as the differences in presenting text in print and screen formats.
"Know" for the iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch is the second in a series of P.o.E.M.M.s (Poem for Excitable [Mobile] Media) created specifically for reading via touch interaction. "Speak" is the first.
