Description
Lighting control that fits in your pocket...
Luminair is revolutionary DMX lighting control software that allows users to wirelessly control lighting fixtures, dimmers, consoles, and media servers all via a Wi-Fi connection. Luminair works by transmitting and receiving DMX data using the Art-Net protocol, so it's compatible out of the box with lots of existing equipment on the market. It works great for controlling color-mixable LED fixtures, studio lighting, moving lights, and any other DMX enabled equipment. Use Luminair as the ultimate remote focus tool, for advanced architectural lighting, or simply as the centerpiece of your DMX lighting rig.
☀ Multi-touch optimized
Luminair has a brilliant and refined user-Interface, with powerful touch-optimized controls throughout the app. Some of the highlights include wide fader controls, large trigger buttons, RGB and CMY color pickers, XY controls with accelerometer support, and easy touch-based channel assignment.
Luminair offers an innovative way of assigning pictures and images as a visual reference for the designer's cues. Users can use the device's built-in camera, built-in photo library, or Luminair's internal web server to assign images. A CoverFlow-like view makes it easy for users to browse and trigger cues in a completely visual manner.
☀ Stacks
Luminair offers continuous automated show playback with Stacks, which is a cue-list playback system. These playback capabilities have been designed to make it very easy to put together shows for a wide variety of uses, in a really quick and familiar manner. Cues are added to a stack, and each have their own individual hold and fade time. Users can work with multiple stacks, apply batch timing to individual stacks, and choose one of five modes for playing back cues.
☀ Input analyzing & recording
Luminair's Art-Net input port allows data to be displayed in realtime, as a touch-scrollable overview of all channels in the input universe. Selecting a specific channel shows the current value, as well as the past 24 seconds of data in graph form. Luminair also offers the capability of recording snapshots from the Art-Net input port directly to individual cues. This is useful for show backup, or simply for users who would like to design on a full-size console, but want to have playback or triggering control from an ultra-portable device.
☀ File Management
Fixtures and projects can be saved and restored at any time, making Luminair an indispensable tool for configuring your lighting network. A built-in file manager makes this a simple process. Build fixture presets right on the device.
☀ Industry standards
Luminair was created with industry standards in mind, and is compatible with numerous existing hardware and software products. All DMX signals are computed natively on the iPhone or iPod touch.

Customer Reviews
Worth every cent!
Within 5 minutes of plugging it into my ancient base station and Artnet node, I was controlling a truss of moving lights (VL3000 Spots). It is really easy to set up multiple fixtures, and change between them. I also used it to wirelessly check several dimmer racks that we had scattered around a large convention center. The x/y grid control for pan and tilt works great! It could use a simple "next" feature, for checking dimmers one by one, but for what it is, it is a great application. Other similar devices are much more expensive, and difficult to set up. Thanks Guys!!!
Works great
I bought the app since I owned a GrandMA node. I downloaded the app plugged the node into my pc and made it artnet compatible. I then plugged the node into a standalone wifi router and my iphone saw the router. The app started right up . I grouped three sets of channels into three faders and plugged the dmx into the node and everything worked. Sliders work well and the app is very iphone like. Luminair seems to offer other functionality that I have not explored with moving lights and color scrollers. For straight dimmers it works great. There web site email does not appear to function with firefox if you thought you sent them an email you probably didn't. Excellent app just what I was looking forward since I do not want to carry several remote devices.
2.0 rocks!
Once you get past the initial set up, which takes a bit of networking skills, it is very easy and intuitive to use. Other DMX controllers out there are proprietary and offer only a keypad or very limited control. This app has touch sensitive faders, x/y moving light control, and color changing capabilities.
The new update makes this app a must have if you work with DMX lights. The new coverflow options for cues, cue stacks, and being able to use any web browser to export files is really top notch. You can also record DMX signals from other sources. This makes using the iphone as a back up lighting console very easy. With this app a wifi router, set to be on it's own network, and an artnet node you have a very powerful mini lighting console always at you side.
Before the update I could walk around and turn on lights, use my moving lights, and change colors on my CYC all with a swipe of my finger. Now I can actually run a show with cues or a cue list (called stacks) without any worries except maybe battery life. Even if you have to buy the router and the artnet node this is still the cheapest set up for a wireless touch screen based remote focus unit, let alone a full lighting console.
