Bad, do not buy

You cannot cut-and-paste addresses, it only found one out of the first three addresses I tried to find.

My iPhone stopped working after I installed it. Do not buy this app.

I could not get a refund, so I'm out the $40.

Great app!

This is truly a great gps app! It is quick and runs smoothly. It has a very clean and intuitive interface as well as clear guidance instructions. The integrated google poi function works great. My favorite part is the traffic. I use it all the time even for destinations i know how to get to because it really works and has saved me countless hours. The app does consume over a gig and a half of space of preloaded maps and guidance however that is what allows the app to run so smooth and without any cell connection except for traffic. The only improvements I would ask of would be a voice controlled interface and a way to prevent the voice guidance from being rerouted to a Bluetooth headset when connected (very annoying).

Loves to reroute - both a pro and a con

Update (10/26/2011): (iPhone 4 with iOS 5.) This update is full of bugs. Volume control is non-existent - and, what's worse, it's set at an extremely low volume that is barely audible on the road. I've restarted my iPhone to make sure that's not the source of the problem, but that didn't solve it. Also, it has some really weird routing problems, sending me off the highway, onto side-roads, then back onto the highway for no reason. It also picked up accidents that weren't there, such as one on a local road near my house, telling me there was a 6 minute delay when there was no accident in the spot it said there was nor even a sign of an accident anytime in the recent past. Resist updating to 2.2.1 if you can and wait for another update, otherwise I find this update basically unusable.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (10/12/2011): Overall, Magellan has become my favorite nav-app after having used offerings from TomTom, Navigon, and Garmin. While I find Garmin's interface to be extremely simple and clear, and that's a benefit when driving, it lacks in practically every other way, and that's where Magellan wins - and the others are compromises in between. Magellan, on the iPhone 4, has been excellent - GPS has been strong, traffic routing is very good (something ALL nav-apps have suffered with so far) and on-screen instructions are the best (it will show you not only your upcoming turn but the next move beyond that, a very helpful thing when in a congested area.)

Two things do bother me, however: first, when Magellan suggests a new route due to traffic congestion - and it does this often, being easily the most sensitive to traffic changes - the screen with the suggestions is very hard to read, with small font rendered in too-light colored text. Larger, bolder text is a necessity when driving, as I often find myself having to crouch down a bit to read while driving, and, well, you can imagine how much of a problem that could turn out to be in just the wrong situation.

The other is about that rerouting. I set up Magellan when I leave work and it routes me one direction, down a surface road (with no traffic reporting, so Magellan can't know how busy it is) that I know to be busier than I want to deal with so I go another route. I still wish to take Magellan's initial suggestion, but once I've changed my route, Magellan often completely changes my entire route without telling me, often to one that I would prefer not to take, not giving me the option to maintain my original route. This is a no-no. Many times before I figured out what was going on, I'd end up on the highway, finding myself extremely confused because I have one route in mind that Magellan set up and Magellan has chosen something different. Alert me and let me choose, Magellan, that's all I ask.

Suggestions:

Connect it with the Where To app like TomTom and Navigon do. I use this app to find things because it's easy to find stuff around, and when I locate it, it will send the address to one of those two apps to navigate me there. Don't make me keep choosing one of those - let me remove them and rely solely on Magellan and Where To, please.

Let me designate "preferred routes." There are some routes I want to take home almost no matter what. Let me choose between those and see how bad traffic is between those and your suggestions.
